This little golf course is a nice place to play a round or two.

I was passing thru the are from Wabasha, MN to LaCrosse, WI. I had some extra time so I stopped at Walnut Grove GC to play 9 holes. They were aerating the front so they had me tee off on the back nine. Some notes:1. The rough and fairways were lush and well watered. The fairways are a combination of different types of grasses but they were well seeded and my ball sat up very nicely.2. The greens were very in very good condition (the back was not aerated). They putted a little on the slow side but they were smooth and true.3. If you are playing it for the first time I recommend a power cart. On some of the holes is it a little difficult to tell where you next landing area is so it helps to zoom a head for a look. The course is very pretty and has some nice views.4. The tee boxes on many golf course are beat up. Not here. 5. This is a family operation. The son is the greens keeper and he does a nice job.7. You can loose some balls here but good shots are rewarded.6. I recommend this golf course.

Walnut Grove is a nice friendly 18 hole golf course. The bluffs around the course are beautiful, the course is hilly and fun. It is a nice stop when traveling Hwy. 35 Wisconsin Great River Road/National Scenic Byway along the Mississippi River.
