lake hallie golf course

For one of the best fish fries in the Eau Claire area head up to the Lake Hallie golf course. Great cod and walleye. You can't go wrong here and the fried food is never greasy. Homemade pizza is fresh made and worth the wait. Want something lighter, the club sandwich is one of my husband's favorites. Make reservations for fish night or you will have a long wait.

Fun layout with some variety, greens were quite good, a couple of holes along the river were very wet and should have been closed especially for carts. Walking permitted and there were plenty of walkers. No ranger, slow play apparently is acceptable.

We had heard that under new management the restaurant was very good. What a nice surprise we had. The Friday night fish special was some of the best we have had in the area, My wife had the broiled fish that came in its own bowl with butter and great seasonings. I had the fried and it was very tasty and was not greasy. The sides of potato, salad, and coleslaw were generous and also very good. They have a formal dining area as well as the bar area. We preferred eating in the bar area as the romantic ambiance was more to our liking. They were very busy so would advise reservations if they take them and you do not want to wait (although the view is spectacular looking over the grounds). Scott seemed to be the man in charge and he runs a very good operation. He was very cordial and even gave me a free beer as the kitchen was a little backed up and we had a short wait for our food. The bar had a nice selection of beverages and my wife's Margaretta was good. We will be back.

Friday nights this place is busy with the locals coming for the Walleye. The servings are generous and delicious.

Nice course which the holes don't resemble eachother too much, a good variety. Always have had good service and fun. No driving range.

The Golf course is beautiful. The bar is small but inviting. We had a family party there in the back of the bar. The staff was very accomodating. Very pleasant.
