Short walk from parking spot to small sandy area where you may enter the frigid spring waters of the gorge. Wade to the falls and climb up the rocks (might need the helping hand of a friend) to small staggered pools. Walk along the top of the gorge to sightsee and watch the very adventurous jump off the cliffs into the gorge. (Wouldn't recommend doing this, though). Parking is very limited. Excellent photography location!

Baraboo's secret...what I disliked most was the trash left by visitors, the disregard for NO PETS (it's a natural state park area) and the burned evidence of fires (No fires permitted) If you can't behave...don't visit. This is a little local secret...not sharing it's location, but if you do find it, please respect it, you will love it .... it's beautiful and peaceful

We went after a cold week in mid-winter. The bonus was that Skillet Creek was frozen and you could walk on the ice through the gorge. Moreover it was pretty empty.The gorge itself is of modest proportions, but has lovely aesthetics that strikes me as similar to Starved Rock State Park in Illinois. Gathering from other's photos it has some beautiful mosses growing on the rocks in the warmer months. The hike itself is as easy as you can get without a boardwalk or paved trail.Between here, Devil's Lake, Baraboo, Parfrey's Glen and all the tourist stuff in the Wisconsin Dells I think you could have a great 4 day weekend.We'll be back for sure to see how it is in the Spring.

This place is hidden off of County Road W. Tiny parking lot! If you can get there early + squeeze into a spot, the hike and view of the gorge is worth it! Bring your camera. Dog friendly too. Hiking is pretty easy with some hills. You can climb down and walk through the gorge pretty easily too.

I am a bit ashamed to admit that I have lived in the area 30+ years and never hiked in here till last Sunday. Heck, we almost bought a house just to the east a few years back. Well, I am happy to join the consensus and state that this is a lovely little natural site. An easy short hike back in. It was fall, so leaves were falling into Skillet Creek. We talked to a professional photographer setting up for shots for almost two hours. A true gem.

This was my first time here and it didn't disappoint. We didn't find it very hard to find, but it was hard to find parking. It seems people flock to this place in the fall on weekends. We were able to get a parking spot, and glad we did because on the way out the sheriff was ticketing people who parked on the road. I was a short walk to the glen and beautiful with the sun shining through the yellow leaves. Many photographers here trying to get their shot in. We walked to the end of the path and were able to get down by the water. It felt like a whole other world. Can't wait to come here in the summer to do some swimming. But when we do it will defiantly be on a weekday to avoid the crowds.

Great place...Hard to find. Well worth the drive though. A bit difficult for hiking. Slippery on leaves and acorns. Very nice adventure though.

Perfect hike for the fall photographer. 5pm is perfect time to visit with the sun setting over the trees. Waterfall is small yet beautiful

This gorge is so scenic. With a little effort you can view the all 4 of the small waterfalls at once. A wonderfully peaceful place.

The short hike to the view of the waterfall and swimming hole beneath it is good. But much better is the hike around and back of that waterfall to the hidden area between high rock walls. Truly beautiful.

Loved this little excursion! Hard to find, but worth the search. A little hike back into the woods and up to the top, but 2 nice small waterfalls and natural pools to swim in.

Busy on weekends, and limited parking, but a wonderful secluded hideaway of nature..love this place especially in the fall!

This is an out of the way gem. Mostly locals come here. There is a river going through a canyon. People walked to the head of the canyon and then swam, waded and scaled small waterfalls to get to the other end. Some did it again. We did not do this, but we had fun watching.

My friends and I used to go up during the summer before all of the tourists found out about PN (I'm from the area). It's tons of fun if you want to get away and hang with your friends, but make sure you wear solid, waterproof shoes. People like to party up there and there's often broken glass in the parking lot, the beginning of the trail, and the pond at the end of the stream. A lot of people like to cliff-jump into the water, but make sure you know the depth before you do. There are only two spots where you can safely do so.

This is a pretty easy level hike along a spring fed stream. There is a small water fall and stepping stones to cross at the lower level. I took 6 kids ages 2-12 one warm summer afternoon and they all enjoyed it. The older ones enjoyed helping the little ones cross the stream and the added challenge of walking closer to the ledge. This would be a special place to visit any time of year.
