For a first time rider I didnt know what to expect. Our tour guide Jesse was outstanding! By the time i got on the horse, i was very comfortable. The trail had amazing ocean and mountain views and we could even see whales breaching from the trail! I highly recommend it

We went on a last minute horseback riding adventure and it was very enjoyable. Drifter and Willie are very sweet horses and the guides are friendly and knowledgeable. One of the best activities we did on the island.

Our family showed up for a Sunset ride ($405 for 3). Our first flag was that the horses were filthy...caked on mud. "Frenchy" the trail hand gave me Zorro, stating that he needed a very experienced rider, because he was lazy and needed someone to keep active in the ride. About 500 yards into the ride, Zorro was coughing. Further down the path it was obvious the horse was suffering from a severe respiratory infection. Going up the trail, uphill, this poor horse was struggling and heaving just breathe. Frenchy said the owner knew the horse was chronically ill and still kept him in circulation. This horse was knowingly NOT LAZY, but just struggling to breathe. I called the owner, Ray, on the ride who met us on the trail coming back...just to be incredibly caustic and defensive. He would not even check to see if Zorro was in trouble with just breathing. He scared my children and insulted me. PLEASE AVOID AND DO NOT SUPPORT this abusive and negligent stable.

We had a wonderful time on our ride. Mary and Frenchie were great tour guides and made it that much more enjoyable. The views were fantastic! Riding through the mountains at sunset was priceless. And the horses looked happy too:).

Horseback...Maui...sunset...mountainside...what else do you need to know? Really nice staff who kindly helped me out when I lost my phone along the way (entirely my fault). What a stunning way to experience Maui.

Mary and Frenchy were awesome guides. We had a nice day and enjoyed the ride as a family. Highly recommend this ride. We are not experienced riders. My daughter was extremely happy with her white horse which was perfect for her.

My wife and I had a really good ride with these folks. Jesse, our guide gave us a grand tour of the area we road thru, and lunch was made up of fresh subway sandwiches from a local vendor. the day was hot, but the breeze along the slopes made for a fun comfortable ride.

Love this place! Jesse was my guide and I felt as if we were friends. It was just the two of us on the lunch ride. She was so knowledgeable of the island for s girl from Florida! The ride was on my wish list 22 years ago but I sprained my ankle & couldn't ride. It was worth the wait. The stable and horses were well cared for. I am around horses every day at home so I'm no stranger to horses or what great living conditions should be. Thanks Jessie for a great start to an awesome vacation!

My wife and I booked an AM ride and to our surprise where the only to show up. Our guide Mary was fantastic! She kept a steady conversation going with us and the 2 hours flew by quickly. Being up in the hills above Lanaina you get an interesting perspective of the coast, Lanai and the hills an valleys of Maui. Our horses, Big Red and Dixie were fun to ride and seemed to be well cared for.I would highly recommend both Lahaina Stables, Mary, Big Red and Dixie to anyone interested in a fun and entertaining way to spend a couple of hours on your Maui vacation.

I still would recommend this if you are a tourist visiting Maui, but it is not a magical perfection. It was lovely hanging out with beautiful horses but when we got to the "Valley view" destination, it was like "This is it?" At the same time, it is good to see that the horses are well taken cared of.

This ride is well worth the money. We went on a "lunch" ride. The ride round trip was about 2 hours. Our ride leader Jesse Foren was terrific! Our group were not experienced riders but she made us all feel comfortable on our horses and made the experience extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend Lahaina Stables & Jesse if you are thinking of enjoying the west Maui mountains on horseback. Beautiful views of the water and you may even see whales.

Great Staff!!!!! Was greeted by Ray, gave me a nice overview of the place. Our tour guide was Jessie, and she was just so knowledgeable of the Island and even gave us a history lesson during the ride.Horses are well tempered and this would be a wonderful experience for young children also.Snacks were provided at a rest stop. where we were greeted by the local ducks.would definitely do this adventure again.Price is well within budget.

Our first trip to Maui, as horse owners we trail ride often back home, our guide Jesse provided everything we needed for an excellent day in the saddle. We met a few of the other staff and they were all great. Healthy horses and good equipment. We loved this place!!

We have ridden several places in the US, and twice through Lahaina stables. In fact, we had reservations another place but they cancelled due to "possible" rain. (It didn't). I would note that on Kauai they ride daily, rain or shine. Not sure what their issue was.... However, Lahaina stables were more than happy to have us back even on short notice! We really enjoy the relaxed nature of the ride and amazing views. Our group included a never before rider, and by the end of the ride, Mary had her so comfortable she agreed to try trotting and even wanted to go again! Mary was so good with her but still gave us all plenty of attention. And she was on it when a man dropped his lead rope, putting him and his horse in danger. We got to see some whales jump in the views as well. I would go again and recommend you go ride with them too. No experience required!
