This is a wonderful place to take your grand kids, children, or just a couple. Something for all ages, and full of interesting attractions. See nature, pet animals, feed them, and just enjoy the sites. As you walk this large wonderful getaway to nature. Remember to bring quarters, you will need them to get up close and personal as you feed the animals. Highly recommend going here many times. You will enjoy each trip!

It's was nice and cheap for kids to explore animal. Great family vacation for a day. On weekday charge and on weekday I believe it was free. They have good amount of animal to feed and play around.

Stumbled upon this place during a family reunion. It is amazing and perfect for families. Plenty of animals to see and pet as well as lots of other fun and informative things for families to do. Perhaps the best part is price.

Deanna Rose is a wonderful place to take your little ones for hands on experiences with farm activities plus playground equipment and other activities. It is free to the public on week days and a minimal charge on weekends.

We visit Deanna Rose at least once a month but usually twice. We have little kids (5 and 4) and it's perfect for them. It's small enough that we can see everything in maybe 2 hours. The kids love feeding the goats, fishing and 'mining' for jewels. There is a fee on the weekend but it's very reasonalb.

This is such a fun and special place for kids to get to pet and see animals, go fishing, and mine for "gold." It is a fun and relaxing place for the entire family and it is so inexpensive to visit. The special events like the Fall Pumpkin Patch are highly recommended, too.

This is a fantastic place to take young children I've been going to this part for over 30 years when my children were just toddlers so if you got little ones definitely to go to place in Overlin Park

I once heard that Deanna Rose has more visitors per year than the Kansas City Zoo...and I believe it! If you have young kids and have not been, it is a must see place. My kids are now 10 and 7- they still enjoy going once or twice a year, but not the weekly trips like when they were younger. We have met people that drive over three hours just to go to Deanna Rose. If you so desired it would be easy to spend a full day here.Deanna Rose is very reasonably priced. Admission Monday-Thursday is free. On Friday-Sunday it is $2/person for anyone three and older. If you have a larger family or plan on going more than once I suggest purchasing the family membership for $35. It is a full year admission pass and will also get you: 4 small drinks, 4 pony rides, 4 goat feed pellet cups (not the bottles) and 4 fishing rentals. A great deal and you're giving money to such an amazing place!Outside food is not allowed. You can buy food (sandwiches, hotdogs, ice cream, chips, etc.) at the various concession areas (located in the dairy barn, ice cream parlor, General Store and near the old entrance by the slides in the small red barn). The concession locations don't all sell the same items so if you are looking for something specific look at the menu board before standing in line. Food prices are not outrageous, but if you wanted to save money you could pack a cooler in your car. There are picnic benches and a small playground in one of the parking lots. There is a lot to see within the 12-acre park. They even have a scavenger hunt that your kids can do- inquire at the entrance. Some attractions are free such as the push pedal tractors, play ground areas, dairy barn movie, old schoolhouse, Indian Encampment and butterfly garden. If your kids are old enough to sit through short presentations I would suggest going to the schoolhouse and Indian Encampment. Presentation are generally in the mornings on the weekdays and are very interesting and historical. Some newer areas that have been built within the last few years are the old-fashion bank and barber shop. There are other attractions that will cost some money. The mining for gems is always one of my kid's favorite things. It will cost $4.50/small bag or $7/large bag. They will get a bag to keep their gems in with a gem identification card. Feeding the baby goats a bottle of milk is only $1. Be warned: the goats do jump on you and sometimes nibble at your clothes. This, inevitably, freaks out many of the younger kids. You can, however, safe-guard apprehensive children by feeding them through the fence. Fishing is $3 for the worms and pole- a favorite for my kids...me, not so much. Wagon rides are $3...check the time because I think this attraction closes earlier than the others...maybe around 3:00. Pony rides are $3. Bring quarters too, in order to buy fish food and goat pellets throughout various areas of the park. If your kids want to do most of the attractions I would recommend purchasing a combo pack for $10- it includes a small bag for mining, a wagon ride, pony ride, bottle of goat milk and fishing! They do have other animals to see besides the cows, goats and horses. They also have pigs, turkeys, ducks and even bison, bobcats, American eagle, praire dogs, owl, peacock, etc. They do have hand washing stations and bathrooms throughout the park, but I would also bring a bottle of hand sanitizer. If you can avoid a weekend visit you will find it less crowded obviously. You can bring strollers and they have some wagons that can be borrowed. It is opened 9-5. Some summers they extend hours on Tuesday and Thursday until 7:00- not sure if they still do. Don't forget your camera- you will come away with great pictures! Hope you have fun! We have great family memories from here.

Great Christmas lights to music display. A must see. Happens every evening and is in sync with music on your radio.

This is one of Overland Park's treasures. We take our grandchildren here every chance we get. They never tire of it. As for attractions, they are always requesting us to take them.

I went here with my niece (3 years old) last fall. This was a WONDERFUL time. Way more enjoyable than the KC zoo for children of this age. Less walking and even more hands on for the kids. Very clean.

There is so much for the kiddos to do at Deanna Rose Farmstead that they won't want to leave. The drawback is that around every corner, with every new activity, accompanying adults have to shell out more dough. It's a buck here, a buck there so it doesn't seem like that much until you walk out of the place realizing you just spent a wad of money. Pay to feed the animals, shell out for seed for the birds, pay to pan for gold, and suddenly you realize you've been pick-pocketed. That said, if you're aware of this ahead of time and prepared to spend the cash, your family will have a memorable day.

Wonderful way to spend a few hours or half day. The animals are plentiful and fun to see. The children can feed some of the animals. Kids can fish, ride ponies, ride little tractors, go mining for gems, see the ducks and rabbits, see the one room school house, bank, etc. They love feeding the baby goats with a baby bottle of milk. You can bring a picnic lunch or buy something at the snack bar. Well taken care of property. Entrance fee is minimal. There are small fees for riding ponies, fishing, mining.

Great place to spend the day with kids...lots to do and see and pet. They've expanded the educational areas...make sure to visit the old schoolhouse. There is a snack bar that is reasonably priced if you get hungry. Best time to visit, in my opinion is early June when the flowers are blooming and it's not too hot. They also have special dates throughout the year, including a haunted hay ride in October. Truly a perfect family fun experience.

I have been going to The Farmstead for over 30 years. I used to take my children now I take my grandchildren. It has changed over the years and is just fantastic. Has all the farm animals up close and personal interaction. Has beautiful gardens. The kids can fish and take pony rides for a small fee. Nice play areas thru out. We go all thru the seasons. Halloween is one of out favorite. There are original old restored buildings, school house & barn etc. Kids love the TP and Indian sod house. There is an old general store and icecream shop also. Just a great place in a urban setting . For people of all ages. To be able to see animals and interact where they may never have that chance.
