The Nazareth Motherhouse is one of the sites in Concordia, Kansas on the National Register of Historic Places. The original portion of the building was constructed in 1903 and has seen years of worship and service by the Sisters of St. Joseph. There have been additions to the structure and all portions are still in use. http://www.kansastravel.org/nazarethmotherhouse/The website will give more information. The most amazing thing to me was the original art which has been created by the Sisters. Large oil paintings hang on the walls as well as smaller bronze sculptures in various rooms. A tour (about an hour) is available by appointment, just call 785-243 2113. Make sure to look in the Nazareth Gift Shop before or after your tour. One item of particular interest that is for sale is bobbin lace. This craft is rather rare but is still created by certain Sisters. A very intricate piece is on display in one of the museum rooms. A very relaxing and inspirational place to visit.
