In visiting the county seat of Wabaunsee county in Alma, (known as the city of native stone) a great place to stop and spend a couple of hours is at the local historical museum. For a town and county with a small population this large museum has a fantastic diverse display of artifacts. From Native American artifacts, farm implements, buggies, county native four star general Lewis Walt collection, to a massive historical photo archive. This place has something for everyone. You also can watch the local ladies quilting on many week days. The curator might also let your child ring the bell on the old fire truck.
