The Holocaust Museum is sad and touching but definitely a must. I recommend coming here because it is so entertaining, but it might not be the best for little kids.

One of the best Museums I have been to.... ever. On the history side of the Museum it is awesome, very informative, to the point and without an agenda (No, we the US saved the world from the Nazis without any help) The lay out was cool, the staff was very kind and there is a free coat check....Awesome. On the personal and emotional side this is a tough museum, so much pain hate and death. It really made you think about yourself and what would you do if you were in alive and had to make these decisions. Would you risk your life to help others? If you lived in Germany would you be a Nazis and believe what your government is telling you? Would you fight or would you give up? Tough to answer honestly and I hope that I never have to live these answers. If in Washington DC you must go.... MUST

It was very hot and there were too many people to really be able to see and read anything. Long line ups to get through the security. Very few actual artefacts, mostly videos and posters which you had to read, but couldn't get close enough to read due to the number of people they let in the permanent exhibit at a time. Nothing I couldn't read or see online anyway. I'm glad I didn't pay anything for the museum. Such an important part of history that should never be forgotten should be provided with a much better educational experience.

A fine museum that tells a very important story in an intelligent way, I especially liked the "tower" with photographs from a shtetl.

I visited Dachau when I was a teen with my mother and wanted my daughter to understand this part of our history. They did a wonderful job of explaining the rise of the cultural and political events that led to the holocaust. It's not for small children but a must for your teen. Our conversation continued all day after to visit.

Upon your arrival you receive a pasport, you're given a brief description of a victim of the holocost. After begins your journey into history, greatly done and very poignant.

I've read a great deal about the holocaust beginning with my first book when I was in the 10th grade. I'm 66 now, so I have a lot of knowledge under my belt. Walking through an actual boxcar used to transport and walking on cobblestones from the Polish ghetto left me in a trance.

i went here for an 8th grade field trip a couple months ago and it was so amazing. my best friend is jewish and was so touched by it that she started crying. it covers everything within the holocaust, and it has so many items from that time, its unreal. when i went there was a couple who survived the holocaust and getting to talk to them was a once in a lifetime experience that i will never forget. i highly recommend this museum.
