For a small town this is a great place. The bar could improve its music selection and lighting. The service at the bar is great and their specialty are the Gin Tonics actually having a variety of tonics other that the generic spray type one. The one thing though is that they are served in very small glasses and that just not looks right even though the measuring is accurate. Josh and Jason and all the guys behind the bar make this THE bar in town.

We recently enjoyed a night out and stopped in to Oak and Alley for our first time. The drink menu was fabulous with very friendly staff. We will be returning soon to check out the food, as it looked great!

The margaritas were in 8 oz glasses with big, square ice cubes and very little to drink for $17.00. The menu was strictly appetizers. Only three customers in the bar. Will not go back.

As a preface, I've been to nearly nine speakeasy-style bars in larger cities like Chicago, NYC, and Seattle. Also, I prefer a good bourbon (think Willet) to Rum & Coke. That said, you can't find any other cocktail bar nearly as good as this in Northern, and I'd daresay, the state of Indiana. These cocktails would easily hold their own against speakeasy style bars in either Chicago or NYC. That's a fact. And they're low-priced. Like, stupidly low priced. I can get a doctored up whiskey-ginger (the "Orange Whip") for $5. THAT'S UNHEARD OF FOR A COCKTAIL.Needless to say, I'm usually a weekly visitor.BONUS: Chef Nate serves up Chicken & Waffles with greens and a bourbon maple glaze. The catch? They're only served at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. But they're so worth the wait.

Oak and Alley's daytime cafe is called Three Crowns Cafe. So, my friend and I are doing the ol'..."So, where do you wanna eat? I dunno, where do you wanna eat" merry-go-round...and decided to try the new place in town for lunch, Oak and Alley. So glad we did! It presents a warm, comfortable, casual atmosphere where there is basically one or two things on the menu. The day we went, there was one. An Italian thin-shaved prosciutto with fried egg and herbs sandwich, accompanied with organic sauteed potatoes. A local foodie star chef who moved from his food truck called "Curbside" to create great lunch sandwiches indoors, put together one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. (Both of us agreed!) Hot or cold coffees and fruit concoctions are also offered...all excellent. I chose the Swedish vanilla latte. The overtones of maple syrup wins my vote! Three Crowns Cafe\Oak and Alley is one of the surprising delights in this downtown rural Indiana ville!
