A very nice center and the staff was fantastic. Info re the natl rd and stuff to purchase. Lou and Ann answered any questions and gave ideas. For a museum experience the centers to visit are in Vandalia IL and Norwich OH

The Visitor's Center had all kinds of information for the county and the state. There were so many brochures and things to do, local items to purchase, and a very friendly staff!

I stop at most Welcome Centers along the interstate highways and entering any region for the first time, and always look for the tourist information signs in every town. Many Welcome Centers have displays or mini museums about the area. No historic displays or museum here at this one, just a typical room full of brochures like you would find many places along the interstate. But there is a very small gift shop, and yes, restrooms as well. Not sure why this Welcome Center would be listed as an attraction, it is a very basic information station.

The rest areas in this area are much nicer than the ones in The western states. They are clean and safe and many like this one have picnic areas for passing tourists.

Lots of info and pamphlets to find things to do. Clean, nice workers. Worth the stop. We were exploring Richmond for the day and found some interesting activities that we would not have known about if we had not stopped. Wayne County Historical museum is a definite must.

We completely understand that children get restless during long trips and our goal is to provide an atmosphere where they can stretch their legs and relax. We apologize for your inconvenience and I have passed this along to our staff to discuss ways we can provide more child friendly activities in our Welcome Center. For a U. S. 40 museum, not really much to see. Just brochures and a few local displays, etc. Really disappointing for an Avid Rt. 40/Old National Road Traveler who has covered most of the route across Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio (when possible), and Indiana.

Lots of helpful information. Very kind and helpful attendants. They also seem to interact with the downtown. In the spring they had a lovely fairy encounter.

what can I say. Its there. the hours are poor. They do not help that many people to justify the cost to tax payers. during a bad snow storm once they would not open their doors to stranded motorist and the hotels were full. managed poorly if you ask me. I am sure the tax payers of Wayne county could get a lot more bang for their buck.
