it was a wonderful experience to view this facility. My husband served two tours in Vietnam and it was interesting to see the display from that time frame

Winter Storm Thor prevented us from continuing our trip north, so we explored the museum on our extra day in Fayetteville. The museum offers a wealth of historical information about the development of Airborne and Special Operations. It has a good mix of written material, dioramas illustrating the uniforms, equipment, and supplies from various wars and conflicts, and short videos.

This museum really helped me to think about the cost of projecting U.S. power abroad. Our dedication to liberty for all peoples, and to the security of our nation comes with a high price tag, both in dollars and in terms of the impact it has on those who sacrificially lay down their lives and personal comfort to protect our freedom. Every display was moving. It was especially thought provoking to see how some who may not have enjoyed all of the benefits of being in the dominant group still offered all they had in defense of the nation they loved. We are so blessed to live in this nation and to have these heroic men and women among us.

The building is pretty. The museum rocks. My 6yo was impressed. It has sounds, descriptions, lots of info. Several "scenes"

This Museum holds a special place for me as I was stationed at Ft Bragg twice. If you have never been around the Army you should stop and see this. You will enjoy it very much. The museum focuses on the time period from WWII to the present.

This museum does a great job of presenting a variety of information, but not overloading you. There are numerous life-size dioramas that you can walk around to help you better understand what these heroes faced on the front-lines. A lot of stuff is right there in front of you, not separated by glass, making it easier to view it (though obviously some things are still in display cases for preservation reasons). A note for families with small kids. There is some war sound effects piped in at the Normandy village, which could be upsetting to very small children. I think the effects are well-done, but just something to consider for your specific family. The museum does not have a fee, but does accept donations. Of course, there is a gift shop, and it has a decent selection of stuff to help bring the memories home.

I've been numerous times and always learn something new. Best to dedicate at least an hour. Numerous wars & conflicts are portrayed in life size displays with several interactive exhibits and a simulator (more for kids). Don't pass on the documentaries/movies. Nice place to cool down in the summer. Run by volunteers and limited hours. Across the parking lot is the NC Veterans museum which is equally enjoyable.

Spent over three hours. Excellent presentation. Every American should experience this type of military museum in order to truly appreciate what our armed forces sacrifice for the rest of us.

For the experience of being in a military community, this is the ultimate. Donations accepted, except for the $8 ride, which is fun - I've ridden several times. It's near other military parks. All are clean and safe, interesting for all ages, because the young kids can run around the outside areas, and may enjoy the exhibits if you talk to them about it.

I love visiting here. I take my Grandchildren at least once a year, and every visit I notice something I missed before. Take a camera and take your time. I love the bride in the parachute dress. Iron Mike and the Hands. My Grandchildren enjoy the movie.

Also solemn, fitting and deserving. Pay your respects, it commands gratitude. Iron Mike stands proud to be an American Soldier. A son. A father. A brother. Salute and thank those who have served, and STILL serve!

I've been to many museums in the US & Europe & the Airborne is definitely a must-see. There is so much attention to detail & the exhibits are such that "you are there. " Give yourself plenty of time to walk through as there is much to take in & the volunteers are so knowledgeable & helpful. You certainly don't want to rush & you don't want to miss even a corner! Another big attraction are the special exhibits. Again make time to visit when they are open. Just walking the grounds & reading the plaques gives one a very strong sense is history. I highly recommend a trip to this #1 museum.
