christa's country corner

We have been visiting Christa's Country Corner for years. (We miss the tail-wagging greeting from Moses and the comforting purrs from Random.) They are good, hard working, friendly people. We can always count on delicious food and pleasant service. Their homemade yeast rolls and cinnamon buns are DE-LI-CIOUS! Oh goodness! Now I want to drive up there to eat! Take your picture beside Sam's big ol' truck 'Yosemite Sam.' Buy a freshly cut Christmas tree. Eat until you can't move. Drink a Nehi. It's right off the Parkway and easy to get to. Don't miss this place. You'll be hooked!

We found this little place just off the Blue Ridge Parkway when we were in Avery County NC for a family reunion. It's just a little spot, but their sandwiches were fabulous--be sure to get the homemade yeast roll bun instead of regular sandwich bread! They had all sorts of desserts, from cobbler to banana pudding, but you have GOT to try Christa's cinnamon buns. They make them from the yeast bread dough, and the ribbon of cinnamon looked almost black, there was so much. It came heated with this big glob of cream cheese icing on top--HEAVEN in your mouth. They aren't open all year round, so be sure to check their website before you head that way so you won't die of disappointment if you get there and they're closed.

The cinnamon rolls are the best! We stopped on a road trip and had a wonderful meal. My husband hasn't stopped talking about the cinnamon rolls. This will be the 3 order that has been shipped to me. What wonderful service and also so accommodating. If you are in the area, or not well worth the drive, stop by and enjoy.

I came here hungry and left very happy! My friend and I stumbled into this store/cafe shortly after running a race nearby. We were sweaty, smelly and starving! We ordered 2 smoked chicken sandwiches, 2 soups and 2 ice teas and all were fantastic! I'd like to thank the lady who was working there that day, since we totally short changed you $3.00, and you graciously accepted our soggy $20 bill from our sock and told us to take the food even though we didn't have enough. lol. We appreciated that gesture immensely!

This place should NOT be listed under attractions. We came here as an attraction, thinking it was a cute little country shop. Honestly, it's not. This is a cafe. They appear to have decent food, but we had just eaten! Please, TripAdvisor, remove this cafe from the attractions listing. We felt very out of place walking into this restaurant. We wound up ordering a Peach Nehi because of the mixup. BTW, there is an adorable tiger kitty who loves to be scritched and hangs out under the patio awning.

Fantastic food, super friendly staff, extremely clean and welcoming!! They make you feel like a next door neighbor that you've known for years. Near Grandfather Mountain, The Blue Ridge Parkway and several Ski resorts. Oh, did I mention that the food is fantastic! :) If you're in the area definitely stop at Christa's Country Corner!

My husband was on a little road trip in August and came across Krista's. We had the best lunch and actually best food on the whole trip. Her cinnamon buns are the worlds best. The staff was friendly and wonderful. My husband has repeated it would be worth driving all the way back down there just for a cinnamon roll. I was stuck on what to add to my husband's Christmas presents. I called Christa's and she overnighted them for me. I have heard him brag on those cinnamon rolls since. He has really shared but he said that was the best gift he received this year. Thank you Christa for your wonderful servicea and cooking. We will be back.

We came to Christa's while on a group ride with our Harley Group.....One of our members scouted it out a couple of days earlier......the food was spectacular.....when you first come up to the place you would never expect such great food!. I had a smoked chicken sandwich on a homemade yeast bun. the bun was recommended by one of the wait staff, and believe me she was spot on...YUMMO! My husband had the special which was a smoked chicken plate that included a large chicken breast, Potatoe salad and beans, with a yeast roll.......all homemade and delicious...this place offered so many sandwiches and was very busy, locals and people just traveling the Blue Ridge Parkway....We were there this past Saturday and it was at around noon.....This is a must stop while you are out this way....they also offer ice cream and homemade desserts....special plates everyday.....Loved this place....we will be back , very soon....a great place to stop while you are out cutting down your own Christmas tree.....
