Check the hours before you plan a visit. The museum is interesting and informative on local history.

this is one of the best Americana museums in the carolinas.Run by a group of great and dedicated people. I think most are volunteers who just love to show it off. Most people have never heard of it but make it a point to visit. They need your support and you want be disappointed

While on a motorcycle ride through Murfreesboro, the owner of a local diner recommended the Jefcoat Museum. As we love Americana, we couldn't resist. Located in an old schoolhouse, it's an amazing (some would say overwhelming) collection of Americana. Mr. Jefcoat was a self-made millionaire who collected this incredible assortment over the last years of his life. There seems to be no rhyme nor reason to the items he collected, other than to represent technological advancements and his own, personal tastes.Like antique washing devices? Got it. Antique medical devices? Got it. Antique bathtubs and toilets? Got those too. In fact, I'd say there's practically no aspect of American life unrepresented. We were there for 2 hours, and didn't see half. Looks like we'll be returning.Apparently, in May they hold a "Pork-fest" on the grounds of the museum. I think we'll be attending.
