We were on a quest in Dale Earnhardt's home town to find all we could dedicated to his memory. This is a very nice park with paths of bricks coming from every direction leading up to his statue that is centrally located. The bronze statue is amazing! Looks so life like.....standing just like him! Also, a marble marker with sentimental words of love and respect for the best nascar driver ever! We left there and drove by the house where he grew up. His mother, Martha, still lives there. She has never wanted to leave. His daddy's garage is still outback. It is as if time has stood still. But the children and grandchildren have taken good care of the house. The streets in Kannapolois all are named with meaning to this great racing family. The main drag is named fittingly Dale Earnhardt Blvd.

Do your research and have a ball finding all the points of interest. Don't trust the GPS. Ask the locals.

The whole dale earnhardt is very inspiring, I grow up here and went the same high school he went to and worked in the same cannon towel factory he did. from the town you can't help but be inspired. if your into nascar you have to come here, charlotte, mooresville, hickory, and read some books on nascar the drivers like wendel scott, pettys, allison, elliots, all the old school nascar. The new school nascar doesn't do it just today. go visit garages where it all took place. they are garages behind working peoples houses. where they worked a 9 to 5 through the week and raced on the weekend.

This is a wonderful way to walk in the steps of the man himself. Excellent self guided tour of his hometown. A must see for all #3 fans!

The monument is a wonderful statue. I'm not a nascar fan but the monument is something every nascar fan should come and visit. Especially if your a Dale Earnhardt fan. The flowers are nice in the spring too.

Walk back through time and reflect on one of NASCARS greatest drivers. Take time to remember that he didn't just drive around in circles, he cared and contributed to his community and to the people in his life outside of racing

I like everything about this area, of course its right here in the town I live in Kannapolis, N.C. Home of many legends and rising stars. The Dale Trail is a nice little walk just to marinate on the more simple things in life, and to learn a little bit of history about one of the greatest race car drivers to ever touch the tracks. Overall this is a great place to take the family after church just for a nice walk

The Dale Trail is a self-guided tour around Kannapolis. It also stretches as far north as Welcome, NC and even into Mooresville and down to Concord. It is well-worth it if you can hit every stop on the trail. It is worth the drive to drive up to Welcome to see RCR, and the Museum. I was unsure because it cost $12, but it was well-worth it! Also, right down the road from Welcome is Richard Childress’ Winery. Go to [--] to see all of the points of interest! Oh, and Curb Motorsports is closed, there is nothing to see there.
