We always enjoy visiting breweries. It was nice seeing the equipment involved in producing Weeping Radish beer. Today, there are so many opportunities to see craft breweries Weeping Radish will need some improvements to keep pace with the competition.

This is one of our favorite restaurants to stop at on our way to the OBX! They have the best potato soup. Hubby loved the mahi wrap they had for the special. Absolutely love the OBX beer made on the premises. The waitresses are wonderful. We always buy the craft beer to take with us. They have around 4 or 5 to pick from. Can't wait to come back in the spring!

We thoroughly enjoyed our flight of craft beers at the Weeping Radish. Our server was very knowledgeable and explained many things about the brewing process of each beer. We would loved to have had time to stay for lunch - everything we saw other people eating looked delicious!

We make this a rest stop on our way to and from OBX. One flight of beer for two people is just right. All the beers are first rate, but my personal fav is the black beer. For food, the liver wurst appetizer and the fried green tomatoes are delicious. If you order sausages, the bratwurst, both the plain and apple varieties are the best. I find the other sausages a bit too salty and tough. There is a case of meats and also beer by the bottle (packs), growlers, and small kegs for sale. There are tours of the brewery, but we haven't been on one yet.

We stopped in after a day on the Outerbanks. It was around 4:00 and it was not crowded. We were promptly seated. The friendly waitress handed us a couple of menus and ask what she could get us. I thought she meant our drinks but she was ready to take our order for food without us having time to even open the menu. She ask if we needed a few minutes & took our drink order. When she came back with our drinks she was ready to take our food order again. She gave us the special which my husband decided to get - a fish sandwich. I had questions about the menu and finally settled on a burger. The waitress seemed agitated I was taking so long to order I just picked the burger. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. My husbands fish sandwich was good with the sweet potato fries. I was brought out something different from what I thought I ordered but decided not to say anything - since I was so rushed during ordering it may have been what I ordered. The burger was ok - it was more well done than I like. I was never ask how I wanted it cooked. 2 sandwiches, 2 teas, & 2 salads were just under $40. It cost more than what it was worth. Might have not minded the cost so much had it been a better experience. The whole time we were there we felt rushed through our meal. It was an early dinner and it wasn't crowded. This was our 2nd visit here and it was the same on our 1st trip. That time there was a good crowd in the restaurant. The wait staff needs to slow down and let diners enjoy their meal and not rush them in and out the door.

We look for microbreweries wherever we travel and drove an extra hour to hit this spot. Sat at the bar and was handed a beer list. I usually get a flight but the price was $5 / pint and $10 / flight. So I eliminated the flight idea. Only 5 beers and nothing hoppy which is my preference. I ordered a weizen and as she delivered it I said "I just noticed that you have 8 taps." Her response 'we also have an IPA and a honey IPA". I told her I would have ordered an IPA had I known and she responded "you can always have 2 beers. "So the bartender never mentioned the seasonals nor was there a chalkboard or signs. Wish I hadn't wasted the hour.

We made this a day trip while in the Outer Banks. The beer was sub par, nothing particularly interesting for a craft brewery. The wurst sampler was not good, the sausages were dry and flavorless. The gourmet mustard was good but you had to pay extra for it.

I was happy to find a place for the beer enthusiast that is my husband and the meals are also "farm to table" Weeping Radish is that place. We arrived to an empty restaurant, one table full and us. Our server was kind, friendly & remembered I had called & said we were the anniversary couple. So I ordered the beer flight (7 samples of their beers) for my husband and told the server I like lighter less "hoppy" beers, she recommended the OBX Beer. Good choice, nice start so far. I ordered the Pork Schnitzel and Hubby orders stroganoff- his favorite german dish. My husbands while tasty was NOT stroganoff, it was linguine noodle (not egg noodle as menu described), ham bits (not pork tenderloin as menu described) and had 4 tiny mushrooms in it. He was upset, he wanted what the menu described not what was being passed off as stroganoff. He asked the server why your menu isn't right? She spoke to chef who agreed about noodles being wrong but blamed distributor for delivering wrong product, said it is pork tenderloin he cut it himself and it is stroganoff. So the chef offered to make my husband another meal, he wouldn't wait another 15 minutes and let my meal get cold (my meal was already in front me and I had one taste before my husband got upset about his, mine was very good. Nice breading, juicy pork) but now didn't trust anything on the menu to be as described, so he ate his linguine with ham. He was pissed! I was very embarrassed he made such a scene but understood- he wanted what you advertised and did not deliver. Basically after receiving a free can of beer and the locals discount off the bill, we just cant come back here. Your chef prepared what the customer did not want and gave nothing but excuses, you tried to make it right I'll give you that, but next time don't bring out a dish that isn't exactly as described please! And lastly, you did not offer anything to your customers celebrating a special occasion- not a free appetizer, desert to share, nothing. Thats very disappointing service!

We stopped at the brewery on our way to nags head. We arrived at opening 11 am since we were on the road for 7 hours already and were hungry. We read they were dog friendly. True but had to sit outside in the sun with no service, order take out and plastic cups for our beer. We could not order a sampler since it would be glasses- Really- I am an adult. We ordered a grilled chicken salad which was small and wilted and a sausage sandwhich which was dry with no mustard( it was take out). Would not stop here again.

It has been a few years since we were in the Outer Banks and we will continue to make this one of our stops each time we are out there. We had the beer flight which was 7-8 of their beers and loved them all along with a wine from a local winery. Two of us shared the "pick 3 sausages with sauerkraut & a big fat pretzel along with there signature liver pate with chopped sweet potato and red onions. This was so delicious and plenty for two. The other couple split the mahi sandwich with fries and again, enough for two. Great atmosphere and great service. One word of caution, our friends purchased what they thought was the signature pate but it turned out to be a plain liverwurst so make sure you get what you are looking for.

My family and I have been stopping in at the Weeping Radish for well over 25 years --- first at their original location in Manteo and more recently at their farm in Grandy. My husband was born in Munich and still has family there; we travel to Germany frequently. The atmosphere and food at the Weeping Radish brings us back to those travels. The food and beer is authentic and the atmosphere is reminiscent of the friendly, casual dining in the old country. We make it a "must" stop on our annual trips to the Outer Banks.

After saying we were going to stop in after seeing it on the Food Network, we took a day and drove down from Virginia. I was so excited to take my husband, the German beer and brat enthusiast, to a place that made things the old fashioned German way. Knowing I have a difficult and rare food allergy I emailed the restaurant several days before our day trip to check on ingredients. By the time we had left for the day I had not received a response, but felt at ease because they prided themselves on using only fresh ingredients and making everything on site, so we ventured there with hope for an awesome meal. When we arrived I immediately told our server of my allergy and asked for an ingredient list, for which they did not have. So I wrote down my allergy, gave her a couple of selections to check and waited happily. Luckily the restaurant was not very busy at all. She returned to say they could not check the ingredients and the chef recommended a salad. I questioned her as to how it was not possible to know what is in the bread or breading of any of the items. And she seemed puzzled. She returned to the kitchen to investigate further, and ended up sending the acting manager over, who stated the same thing that they could not tell what the ingredients are because things come in big boxes and they throw them out (all natural, really). She even told us that they had to turn a family away a few days earlier because their child had a peanut allergy and they couldn't guarantee them a safe meal. I asked her if she was aware of the FDA regulations for food allergies and she did not. More people than not have food allergies these days and if big chains like, Panera Bread, Chipotles, and others can provide an ingredient list, why can't a single restaurant with a limited menu do the same? My guess, they do not care about customer service and catering to all who come in their doors, making them discriminatory and snobby. I left the restaurant in tears and we drove back to Virginia and ate at a restaurant that cares about their patrons. What a shame a great day had to end with a smack in the face that I am different and should just eat salads instead of enjoying good food with my family. The worst part, my children had to witness this and again see how unaccommodating the world can really be.

My parents live about 3 minutes down the road from the Weeping Radish, so whenever my husband and I travel to visit, we always have either lunch or dinner here. They brew their own beer and you can buy it in either cans, bottles, or kegs. They make their own sausages as well and use fresh produce. If you're looking for tasty, fresh, quality food, make sure you stop by here. It is well worth it! I always look forward to coming back. The only negative thing I have to say about it is that sometimes the service is slow. That will not, however, keep me from returning.

We heard that this was a nice German place and wanted to try it. It reminded me of a small Gasthaus in Germany. The beer is fantastic! The brats are superb! We were not disappointed and they even turned on the World Cup Final game for us to watch. We bought a few of the brats to take with us and throw on the grill when we got home.

We stopped at the weeping Radish on the way back from the Wright Brothers museum in Kill Devil Hills NC. Looks like a big farmhouse. Nice and cozy on the inside, wood floors gives it an old style charm. They make their own sausages and beer that you can purchase. Very unique combination of foods on the menu. Everything from tasty burgers to German potato pancakes. I had the Reuben which was just awesome. Service can be slow, but that didn't bother me. Can't wait to go back. It was even featured on diners drive-ins and dives.
