We have been drinking Muddy River Rum for about 2 years since I saw it in an ABC Store (you will have to come to NC to understand ABC...) when we found out that they give tours of the distillery we had to go see. So much fun! The location is beautiful, the owners are so passionate and knowledgeable, and the rum is great. (Did i mention the rum being tasty?) The owners are regular people who followed an idea to make a great product. So go one the tour, learn about rum, learn how they make rum, drink rum then go to your first ABC store and buy rum to take home. I know it sounds like an ad but it really is some of the best rum I have had and the tour is a great way to spend a couple hours. Oh, not to be forgotten you get a cool MR shot glass also.

It was wonderful to hear the owners' passion for their product. Loved learning about the process, the history and the future of this company. I'd recommend this experience to anyone who was passing through the area.

My husband and I took a tour recently and were thrilled with the visit and the business. The facility is fascinating and the owners are genuine and are very passionate about their business! I have told anyone I have talked to about the distillery and encouraged them to take the tour as well. Congratulations on becoming the first ever Rum distillery in the state and many wishes for an incredibly successful future!

What a great visit. Enjoyed learning more about the process of making a great rum, and all the ins and outs of the rum distilling business, as well as being able to sample each the wonderful rums. What an awesome story as well and the owners are absolutely fabulous. Housed in an old cotton mill, the distillery is small and compact with lots of bang for your buck. Only setback is that you cannot purchase the rum they make there at the distillery, but, that is the North Carolina alcohol system.

I really enjoyed this tour. The owners are obviously very passionate about what they do; it showed in their explanation of their products and process and also how good it tastes. I would recommend the tour to anyone who is interested in learning about the distilling process or just enjoys sampling some good rum.

Very good tour and tasting! The owners are very personable and entertaining and explain how they got started and the entire run making process! Even bonus commentary on ABC and taxes in NC. And did I mention the rum is phenomenal??

Ever wanted to know how to make rum? Or why your rum tastes like it does? Take this tour and Robbie will explain it to y'all. Great detail on all the steps, including our cost as consumers. Rum tasting and shot glasses are a bonus, and they're not stingy when pouring!
