I love strolling through the streets downtown Rapid City. Every shop is different and a wide variety of places to see or shop. You have culture and artsy places with fabulous food to enjoy. I love the fountains, so beautiful and in the summer the kids are happy in the water and the winter is ice skating. Great use of the area. Rapid City is friendly and I am never bored there.

The heart of the city has enjoyed an amazing face lift and I love seeing people down there enjoying it. Whether skating in the winter or enjoying music in the summer....bringing people together in public spaces is awesome.

Went to the Dahl Art Center for a Blues/Bluegrass concert and was quite entertained. Good music. The next night we went downtown to the Firehouse Theater for a play. I loved the venue which was really relaxed. It had a small pub in the theater and then little tables to place your drink on while enjoying the show. It was a funny play with pretty good actors. The only bad thing about the Theater was that you had to go up several steep steps to get to it. The price for both of these events were $15-$20.00.

There are so many restaurants and very unique shops down town. We enjoyed the Firehouse Pub and Grill to eat. It was a very interesting place. I am not sure I have the name right but it was an old firehouse made into this fun eating and drinking place. We also enjoyed the wonderful statues of the presidents on the corners of all the streets. It is one of the best downtown areas that I have seen.

Loved the Ice Skating Rink and just walking around downtown and shopping. The weather was so nice. Loved the candy shops also.

Rapid city is a great place. Walking around downtown was great. They have statues of the presidents on each corner on both sides of the street. It is very clean and safe and i enjoyed strolling along checking out the many shops and restraunts. it is not crowded like most downtowns. The employees at the shops are so kind and friendly

. . . looked like an interesting town to spend some time in. Unfortunately, we arrived late in the [Sunday?] afternoon on a motorcoach tour and found almost nothing open. We set out on foot to find dinner --- BeauJos (home of mountain pies = fabulous pizzas!!!). Walking to dinner we discovered life-size statues of US presidents and learned that they had most scattered across downtown.Being an early riser, I had the perfect opportunity for a self-guided tour of downtown on a quest to locate and photograph all the presidential statues. I also found that their visit center not only has a map locating the presidents but also has ice cream! And, passed numerous interesting looking shops and art galleries.

We have been to Rapid City many times and always enjoy it. It is a charming little Downtown with many lovely, large parks in the area. Nice place for walking in the good weather and everything you need here. Great place for hockey!

Downtown Rapid City has a variety of shops and restaurants, plus Main Street Square where they have something going on almost every weekend including ice skating in the winter, and summer nights on Thursdays all summer long. Some call Rapid City the city of presidents because of the presidential statues on the street corners all over the downtown area that you can check out.
