Wow, this really made a BIG impression on us! Several tips:- buy discounted tickets at the visitor center in Charleston (saves $3 pp)- kids under 6 are free (they don't tell you that at the visitor center)- count on spending 4-5 hrs for the 3 ships, or even longer if you want to do all 5 tours on the carrier- the food in Sticky Fingers is crap, try Fighting Lady just down the stairs from there (closes at 2 pm)- start with tour 3 (flight deck), so that you don't have to rush that at the end- the flight simulator (next to msin entrance) is not worth the $5 charge- Make sure you have time at the end to visit the Vietnam camp on the landside (takes about 15 mins)- the submarine just takes 15 mins to walkthru, but worth it- the video about the WWII attack aboard the Laffey is very educative- enjoy!!

Enjoyed our visit to the Yorktown. It is very difficult to keep such an attraction in good shape and it shows in various parts of the ship, from rust to flooring. Was disappointed to see the cockpits left cracked open on some of the planes on the flight deck, obviously having water inside just accelerates the decay. The tour was confusing in some areas but very good overall. Wished we had tried the cafe for lunch but regrettably went with the quick service option since the cafe was a deck below and we did not know what they were serving. It would be helpful if they posted that information somewhere. The volunteers were great and gave excellent advice about the self guided tour. The Medal Of Honor museum was very good also.

Yorktown CV-10 aircraft carrier with amazing history. Don't miss also the USS Laffey destroyer with simulated bombing in the gunmounts. Also the guppy class submarine Clamagore is fun to explore. Finally a new Vietnam Experience. Don't miss the videos!

I served in the Marines but never got a chance to be on ship. $17 for military/veterans for this museum (or should I say museums. You have an aircraft carrier, a battleship, and a submarine. There's also a Vietnam "camp" experience.) Coming here and seeing the massive size of the USS Yorktown was just mind boggling to me. What's crazy is I know there are bigger out there. I was absolutely blown away. I loved it, I was like a kid in a candy store. Lol. They have a cheesy flight simulator that I also enjoyed. Only $5 per person. Idk, I didn't mind paying that. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Chucktown.

The ships give one the feeling of being IN THE EXPERIENCE. This time they had the Vietnam village set up and the audio! My husband said the sounds were very real. He left Vietnam before all of the tents became huts and the floors were still boards with cardboard not concrete or wooden. He had no real problems adjusting after coming home. Naturally, like most young men who did get to come back he felt wrath of the draft dodgers and the idea of people spitting in his face all made him the wonderful husband, father and man that he is today. On the ships one could feel the souls who still walk the decks! A wonderful feeling!

This place is awesome you get to see what it was like on a real aircraft carrier, a destroyer and a submarine. Very nice set up I like the fact that it is self guided and at your own pace. I really enjoyed it and being prior military it was great to see. The Vietnam experience was awesome too. The only thing I disliked was the amount of kids running around and screaming. I know it's a family attraction but the parents just let the kids run wild and they are all over yelling and screaming. But I can deal with it to enjoy the rich history patriots point has to offer. Also the aircraft carrier is haunted so it gives it a little more history and reason to explore it. You will need a full day just to see the carrier so get there early!

A ticket to this attraction includes a tour of the historic Yorktown aircraft carrier, an adjacent destroyer, an adjacent submarine, and a Vietnam War Memorial, which is both touching and realistic. The museum is actually located on the Yorktown, and includes a Medal of Honor exhibit which is fascinating. Buy your tickets at the nearby Mt. Pleasant Visitors Center and receive a $3 discount. There is an additional $5 parking charge. This attraction is so comprehensive that you can easily spend several hours there. Lunch is available on the carrier, or you may drive to a nearby restaurant and then return to Patriots' Point at no additional charge for either parking or admission.

We have spent many nights on the USS Yorktown which is docked here at Patriots Point. This is such a fantastic attraction and certainly one you do not want to miss. It's a piece of living history and it's story is a fascinating one!

The ship gives you a once in a lifetime opportunity to step aboard and really see what it means to be stationed on one of these. The gift shop has a lot of nice things. The view from here looking into Charleston at sunset is top notch.

My wife and I visited patriots point while vacationing in Charleston, SC. It was an enjoyable experience with plenty to see. For the $20 per adult admission, we spent about 5 hours exploring the 3 vessels parked here. We spent at least 3 hours on the aircraft carrier alone, as their was so much to see, including a lot of planes. But, I personally really enjoyed seeing all the various sections of the ship. It was especially cool to see the engine compartment as it was massive. It's an overall great experience that is a great way to spend an afternoon.
