This place is like a screen saver. It's clean and beautiful. We were at a boat landing with new bathrooms. If you're a diver, you can dive 60 feet and see "artifacts" like sunken boats, a cematary, etc... It's a gorgeous place to bring your family.

Huge shop to rent affordable kayaks, canoes etc! Beautiful lake - you can see all the way to the bottom!

Devil's Fork State Park is on the shores of Lake Jocassee, a relatively pristine (ie; almost no development and most shoreline in state hands) deep water, man-made lake between North and South Carolina. The park features several excellent boat ramps, beaches, well laid out camping areas, a general store and fabulous mountain views! A great place to enjoy the solitude of nature trails through the woods or bring your kids for a day or more at the beach.

Very tight park for big rigs to get into this park. We camped in a 35 foot MH. The park is very wooded and the sites are close together. The bathhouses are old and need updating. The attraction of this park is the beautiful Lake Jocassee

This lovely little state park has several walking trails, a boat ramp, sandy beach and lots of camping space. There is also a nice country store to help you with some things you may have forgotten. Public restrooms available. The short one mile hike to the right of the boat ramp takes you thru some beautiful marsh area, and runs along a babbling creek. This is the home of the infamous Oconee Bells which reach their peak in late February, early March. These precious wildflowers grow nearly nowhere else and are endemic to this region of the Blue Ridge Enscarpment. It is illegal to dig them however so leave them be as nature intended. Park is about a 30 minute drive to nearest grocery store in West Union.

The beauty of the lake and the surrounding area is as good as it gets. The people in the area were super friendly. The only busy day at the park during our stay was on the Monday of Labor Day. The week after the holiday was quiet and majestic. Could count on one hand had how many motorized boats were there. Perfect place to kayak and SUP board! Crystal clear and lots of waterfall to explore.

A group of friends loaded up our air tanks and met at the non-motorized landing in Lake Jocassee. It's an awesome, easy place to dive. The site has restrooms, which is a bonus! There are a lot of "treasures" set up for divers. Two platforms, a mock graveyard, a wrecked boat just to name a few. We saw Bass and Catfish. We will definitely dive here again!

We stayed at Devil's Fork with our camper in site 16A. It was certainly big enough, but as it was on a curve, it took several tries to get it backed in. There is an "entrance" to a trail right behind this site that takes you by the lake and through the hills (I think it was about 1.5 miles round trip)The campsite itself was good, but as others have said, the bathhouse could use some attention! The roads through the campground are quite hilly so be advised if you plan to bring bikes. They were too much for our 8 year old.A short walk/drive away is beautiful Lake Joccassee! I'm so glad we brought our kayak and paddleboard to enjoy the water! They do have rentals (eclecticsun.com) and a nice bathhouse there. You can also buy coffee, muffins, snacks and frozen treats. The waterfalls are only accessible by boat so we missed those, but the water itself is so pretty and clear! Yes, the water's edge is rocky but the put in point at the public area wasn't bad, a little steep maybe. The "beach" area was a little small with the water being so high, but again was easy enough to access. There are 2 other put in areas: a boat ramp with a dock and a non-motorized put in point with a small dock. I would recommend the later if you have your own kayak or paddleboard. Beautiful place and I will be back!

Devil's Fork State Park I parked my RV for the night. Located on a large lake, there are several waterfalls only accessible by boat (which they do rent). Very pretty, but heavily boating oriented. Handicapped access is good. Don't expect to see the lake clearly from the camp area

The campground has some small sites. We have been there three times, our first spot we ever had was # 38. It was a pull through. In order to have our camper level and not have three feet of blocks under the front tongue jack you will need an extension cord for your power plug. The bathrooms are dirty and not well maintained. When the lake is high there is little to no beach so access to the lake is limited.If the lake is low there is plenty of beach area.We have a 26ft. Travel trailer and it is pretty tight going through the campground and backing in to sites.

Lake Jocassee is an unspoiled, pristine, mountain lake. Be prepared to relax, unwind, unplug, and enjoy the amazing water of this lake. Devils Fork State Park offers a hiking trails, ranger station, public beach, public boat ramp, public day use dock, outfitter for kayak, sup, and pontoon rentals. A camp store and frozen treat vendor round out the amenities. There is a waterfront campground for campers and walk-in tenters. However, across the cove are 20 private villas also apart of the state park. Each villa is free standing and some offer beautiful views of Lake Jocassee and the surrounding preserved forests of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The villas are 2 or 3 bedroom, with two baths. All are recently renovated, roomy main gathering space, large screened in porch. Some are directly on the lake with amazing views, some are tucked into the hillside woods with no view of the water. Our party of 7 recently stayed for a week in Vila 15. A renovated 3/2 on two floors. Fantastic screened in porch very close to lake, with partial views of the water thru the tree foliage. Fantastic sunsets. A small waterfront access point for kayak/canoe put in...very convenient for kayaks that we brought and stored under house/deck.There is also a private day dock, boat ramp and locked trailer storage available just for villa guests. All amenities were in excellent working order, safe to use. Be aware of SC boating regulations. We were missing a whistle on a jet ski and given a warning ticket by WiIdlife Management. We were already planning our return for next year! We spent hours on our jet skis and kayaks exploring the coves, rivers and waterfalls. The lake was uncrowded, unspoiled. The lake is 77 miles of shoreline of which 95% is preserved. There are less than 40 homes. I live on Lake Norman and it was such a pleasure to enjoy lake life the way it truly could be. Quiet. Star gazing. Water like glass. Undeveloped miles shoreline. Beautiful. Go if you can.Remember: this is a state park. there are quiet hours and no alcohol policy which is strictly enforced. TIP: the weather can change quickly therefore affecting the boating conditions. please pay attention to weather especially when heading out in small craft.

Stayed here with friends from abroad. We had a lake front site and it was beautiful. The lake is so clear with a view of mountains in the distance. There are a couple of good hikes and the Rare Oconee Bells were in full bloom.

We rented a villa (cabin) with another couple. Thankfully, we had towed our power boat to the lake. Everyone there was friendly, whether it was staff of the park or fellow boaters. Lake Jocassee is absolutely beautiful, with so many coves to explore, some with waterfalls. The different types of water activities, at least during the week, never interfered with each other.

Granddaughter enjoyed swimming here in the beautiful lake. Scenic. It was close to where we were staying in Salem (Sunrise Bed and Breakfast). Parking is only $2 and is near the lake. There is also boating and other water activities. There were rentals available for water sports on site.

Checked in on a Sunday. Had to wind through campground dodging bumpers that were sticking out in the road. (Any camper over 30’ it’s a challenge anyway.) Campsites have very little room for camper and boat. Fairly peaceful considering its July. The best way I can describe the bathhouse, “you walk in dirty, and leave dirtier” (quote from my 9yr old). Bathrooms at high school football games are cleaner! Lake is awesome! Launching a boat is easy enough with 3 ramps available. Getting to the dock on the other hand is difficult with all the rental pontoons tied up (not parks). Don’t understand how the Park allows commercial boat rental companies to tie up to the dock all day?
