This is a great place to go. Take the tour to learn about history, I wish they had a four wheel or golf cart the walking will killed your feet.

The Catawba Cultural Center was a truly amazing place to come and see firsthand a piece of local history. They have very cool exhibits to look at. They also have a gift shop with a lot of unique items to look at specific to the Catawba Indian culture. Even if you don't purchase anything, take some time to look through it.

Native American Catawba Cultural is a very interesting subject and the story was not well told here. The Cultural Center needs some more displays to make it more interesting. Just not enough going on to make me want to see again. I understand budgets are tight now a days.

I took my summer campers here last summer (2012). They have a smallish indoor cultural center which is really nice. Gorgeous outdoor walking trails with outdoor exhibits that lead you right to the Catawba River which has breathtaking views. The place is maintained and run by local Catawba ancestors, all are really nice and love to share their rich history and heritage. I'd definitely return to see the changing exhibits.

I've been please whenever I have visited the Catawba Cultural Center. The staff is exceptional! They also participate in events throughout the community. The Pow Wow they host each year during the Come See Me festival in April is an amazing event.

The Cultural Center is located in an old school house building on the Catawba Indian Reservation. It serves as an educational center for people to learn about the history and interesting culture of the Catawbas. Inside the center are excellent examples of Catawba pottery, baskets and other ethnic/historical items. All are presented in nice displays. The gift shop was very nice. A lot of items for sale at very good prices. The lady working there was very kind in asking and answering any questions we had. There are three trails to walk, but the one I suggest starts at the center and goes down to the Catawba River. Along the trail is a replica roundhouse, an old house replica from the 1900's and various info/display signs telling about the Catawba history and legends. Very fun and informative. The center is FREE. Donations are accepted. easy to follow signs from I-77 will lead you to the reservation. If you like to learn about history and cultures, then I suggest you stop by and enjoy.
