It took some discovery but we found the winery and glad we made the effort. We ended up joining their club and liked their wines very much.

This was a wonderful experience on a bright late-summer morning. We did a wine tasting on the back patio and had some really fine wines while viewing the beautiful countryside. We also got a little tour of e facility. We didn't have a chance to partake but they have a wine-blending experience that we will try when we come back. You can pay to mix your own wine blend from six different barrels. These people are so customer oriented. Deb was very attentive to our group.

There were several wines available for tasting with a fee. Most were very good, some more than others. One of the best parts of the visit was the availability of several library vintages of cabernet franc and petite verdot for 20% off regular prices. Most of their wines run in the $40 range, which is steep considering what one can buy in the wine world for that amount. The older wines at the reduced price were a good deal, right place at the right time. Otherwise, I find them to be a bit overpriced. The venue is gorgeous and the staff was friendly. It seems to be a popular stop as it was very busy by 11:00 on a Wednesday.

If you like Merlot, this is for you! This winery was established by Chateau Ste. Michelle to make the best WA merlots possible, and I would proposed that they have achieved that. They also have a few whites, a cab, syrah, petite verdot, and malbec, but Merlot rules here. If you make an appointment, you can even go into their basement and have a try at mixing your own blend from lots from 4 different merlot vineyards, as well as a cab and syrah. A very interesting and rewarding visit!

I was introduced to the Northstar Blending Experience at the establishment we stayed at. I called the day that we wanted to participate and we were eagerly excepted. We had an incredible experience and would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a pleasurable and knowledgable experience. Lindsey was so kind, educated and encouraged questions. She was an excellent teacher and we hope to bring another group back to participate in this one of a kind experience. BRAVO Lindsey!

I love NorthStar. They rival PepperBridge for their Merlots and are slightly less expensive. You can get a really complex red wine here and you'll never go wrong with their Stella Maris. Stella Maris is Latin for Star of the Sea and with the lots that don’t make it into their Merlots, they make a ‘declassified’ wine, and create Stella Maris. I purchased a case of their 2008 (great price), but it is their 2009 that is a really superior wine. And the tasting notes: “Refined yet approachable, this vintage of our Reserve red blend, affectionately known as “Stella,” is rich with notes of coconut, vanilla, and lots of spicy cherry, raspberry, and other red fruit notes. Enjoy with friends!” How can you go wrong with that?I'll be enjoying this starting with Thanksgiving! Regardless of your desire to taste wine, you'll love the experience of the informed staff and the lovely location. The tasting room and their grounds are immaculate. And, if you go during a Release Weekend, you'll be introduced to the gourmet cheeses of Cheese Louise. There is a lot of focus on ensuring the various cheese selections at the different wine stations enhance the wine and vice versa. Your palet will be having a party! NorthStar does this the best of any winery we visited. And they do it every year.Don't miss this winery!

This was our first and best stop. Just lucky I guess. This place is super clean. somewhat rustic in appearance. Very friendly lady helped us learn all about their wines and took us on a tour afterwards. Great wine too!

Now, don't get me wrong. The wine is very good! It's just that the whole experience is what's important. Renè made the experience exceptional. She was knowledgable, professional, and very friendly. She made our visit to Northstar truly memorable. Thanks Rene!

Located next to Pepper bridge this place has the BEST wines I found in Walla Walla. The location is nice, the staff was delightful, the tasting prices are reasonable and they give you many, generous pours. I enjoyed the entire experience and purchased several bottles of Merlot. This is a must stop if you really enjoy red wine.

Great tasting of 6 - 7 wines for $7 ( refunded if you buy a bottle). You really get to taste the differences in the different Merlot. We also loved a Cabernet France (bought $40) and the Premier Merlot (bought for $85). The Premier was one of those wines that you taste last (plus the aromatics are amazing -where did that graham cracker smell come from) is just such a WOW wine when tasted aside the others. Its a wine that is not something that CA or Bordeaux can replicate. Nice tasting room situated in the middle of their vineyard. Highly recommend.
