Very cool to look at. I love hearing my mothers storys and her remembering her childhood as my grandfather would stop and pump gas at the teapot gas station. Its such a cool thing to think about and share, and especially for her to remember a small thing like that, that can bring back happy memories, more so being that her dad is now deceased!!

We always used to come by this old station when it was on the old highway; it made a great backdrop for a photo shoot of our MX-5. It was a bit rundown and seedy, but the city bought it and moved it into town a couple of years ago, and spruced it up. The building is on the historic register if you'd like to read up on the history.

The attraction is actually fenced off so you can't "visit" it. Back in the day - it was a working gas station which was very unique. Hopefully the owners can restore/reopen . This is a historical place and should be brought back for all to enjoyThe only reason for the poor rating is because it was closed....

I wasn't aware it was historical but apparently it is. Great for a photo op, where else will you find an old gas station this unique?

Love quirky things, this is definitely one. Found it via an app. This service station is a reminder of the Teapot Dome Scandal that rocked the presidency of Warren G. Harding and sent Interior Secretary Albert Fall to prison for his role in leasing government oil reserves. Originally built in US Route 12, when Interstate 82 was constructed near Zillah the station was relocated less than a mile down the Yakima Valley Highway. It was purchased by the city in 2007, rehabilitated, and relocated in 2012 to 117 First Avenue. If you are passing the area, then visit it for a pic at least.

This place is a cute piece of history! We were there on a day when the attendant wasn't there, so we didn't get any literature. The teapot building is adorable, as are the old houses. Fortunately there are nice new bathrooms on the other side of the parking lot. The little detour off I-82 to see it took less than 30 minutes!
