It's a nice family park with lots of amenities. Great to spend an afternoon. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

I lived in the small town of Oak Harbor for four years and promise you that Oak Harbor has better beaches to offer than Windjammer Park/City Beach. It's a great place for strolls with your dog or if you have young children, there's a playground for them to play in. The view isn't much to offer though in comparison to the other beaches in town. The beach also has a sewage smell to it at times because it is/was located next to the water or waste treatment facility. Fourth of July here is great since they have the fireworks display and a small carnival at the time, otherwise stick to beaches on the outskirts of town. Rocky Point, The Bluff, West Beach, all of these places are local and are less atrocious than this beach. Pros: Great kid play area, paved walking paths, public restrooms, ample parking, rv park connected, centrally located.Cons: smells, sub-par ocean view, "pond" area is not something I'd recommend kids to swim in, highly populated.

This is where I unwind from a hard days work. I love to walk the trail with my dog, watch the people having fun, watch and listen to the water and birds, and eat my lunch or dinner there. It's peaceful most of the time. When there is something happening in the park, it's always fun to be there and to be a part of, or just watch others have fun.

This is a very clean city park next to the bay and adjoining to the RV park. Great place to let the kids unwind, have a picnic or just walk by the water.

It's probably suited more for dogwalkers as there is not a great deal in the way of attractions apart from a statue of a Dutch guy sweeping up! You can walk along the beach or on the grassy area from where there are some quite nice views. Overall, a nice place for a quick stroll or dogwalk but not much else.

Stroll along the shoreline and enjoy a beautiful view of the Saratoga Passage. Lots of playground equipment to keep the kids occuppied. Clean restrooms and swimming in the lagoon during the warmer months. Large green lawn area where you can fly a kite. Easy access and lots of parking. No admission charge. Good place to spend and hour or two on a nice afternoon. Bandstand that has live entertainment on some evenings.

We spent 10 days here in a 5th wheeler last summer. It was a fairly nice sized spot just a few hundred yards from the beach -in between is a huge grassy area and a paved walked walkway that goes into town and even out to the Seaplane Base/Marina. The rest leaves a lot to be desired. I grew up here and remembered the beach as a beautiful place to sun bathe or swim with a large expanse of sand. This was not the beach I saw this summer - full of goo and sign posted not to swim, the lagoon is full of grass and weeds and the kiddie pool had no water. The downtown looked like a ghost town. This park is a great place to 'Park' and explore the Island. There are great beaches all around the island and parks to hike. For $20/night it's a bargain Parking place.

Oak Harbor has nothing to offer. This is just a place to refuel and you leave immediately. Lots of Homeless around the city. The downtown area is a joke, its less than 1/8 of a mile with no attractions at all. Restaurants are expensive & below two star levels. Overall I suggest do not waste your time in this city. Go to Anacortez or La conner or even Coupeville, better places than Oak Harbor.

We stayed at the campground which was clean, well maintained, and staffed with a Camp Host. Priced at $20/night for full hookups is s super value! Tons of driftwood on a nice clean beach!

Was just an average park-nothing to get excited about..there was a lagoon that I would not let my children swim in...the grass was nice though..

The place was great with many people camping from morning to see the fireworks at night. Lot of recreation and food stalls were set up. It was too cold to see the fireworks. There will be lot of fireworks in the surrounding park which you can view from here. But this time they started the firework only at 10.30 though it was dark around 9.45 pm. Very well maintained park with play area for kids.

Nice park with plenty of parking in the downtown area with great waterside views and plenty of birds.

This park was walking distance from the Acorn Motor Inn and was a nice, average size park. The beach that borders the park was nice, but lots of driftwood, making it hard to walk down to the waters edge. It was pretty sitting there on the logs, watching the sun go down in the evening.

Nice walk with just the outdoor sounds of nature and lots of Fresh Air & washed up logs, seagulls. Our dog found plenty of good things to sniff walking on pathway along shore, which goes for maybe 3/4 mile. We then walked back via the "old town" street which is just 1 block in-land.
