riverfront park

The Riverfront Park, aka River Walk Park, is well worth taking an hour or two to stroll or bicycle along the well maintained asphalt walkway. There are several access points to the walkway, with ample parking available at each one. At the southern end of the walk is a public market called Pybus Market where you can find bistros, restaurants, shops, bike rentals, and during the summer, a lovely Farmers Market. At the north end is the Horan Wetland Nature Area where you can see a variety of flora and fauna. In between are picnic areas, playgrounds for kids, tennis courts, gardens, Osprey nesting, ducks and geese. Dogs on leash are welcome (be sure to pick up your dogs droppings). Protocol calls for walking/riding on right side of path. Be cognizant there are a lot of bicyclist and some like to use the trail as a velodrome race track. We love to walk along the river choosing various locations from which to begin. Often it's a busy place but occasionally you find yourself alone watching the river flow by, viewing the statuary there, or even choosing a bench to sit on to watch people or just to meditate. We often stop at Pybus Market or at the Crepery for a snack or lunch.

I have used the park on numerous occasions for the past two years and the experience has never disappointed me. The trails and pathways are very good and well maintained, the river views are wonderful. I run or power walk and the other users are very friendly and share the space with courtesy. There are numerous sculptures throughout the park.

Very impressed with this park and the adjoining art walk. Stayed in town for the holiday to see family. Went walking on the River Park Walkway. What a joy! Next to the Indoor Market. Really an attraction for locals, as well as out of towners! A great choice.

Very well maintained walk/park along the Columbia river through downtown leading to a nature reserve Interesting art/ sculptures big childrens playground Good toilets! We were there in late November so trees flowers etc not at their best.

A stroll along the Columbia River at the riverfront park, is enhanced by the lovely scultpures and gardens scattered along the path. An experience to be taken more than once!

THIS IS MORE OF AN AFTERNOON DESTINATION THEN JUST A PARK. it RUNS ALONG THE BANK OF THE Columbia RIVER FOR SEVERAL MILES (AT LEAST).You can walk, jog, bike, roller blade. all along the edge of the river. At the downstream end is the Pybus Public market. A must do with local fruit and produce a meat market and more with 3 very nice places to eat.

The Washington State Apple Blossom in Wenatchee, Washington is always fun to attend. The main parade is the first Saturday in May. May 2, 2015 is the next parade. After the parade it's so nice to go to the Riverfront Park and watch people enjoying themselves. Since there are boat / jet ski launches at Wenatchee Confluence State Park and another near Pybus Public Market people can bring their boat, jet ski, kayak and everything else and play on the Columbia River. And not just during Apple Blossom but play on the Columbia River all Summer long. There is also swimming at Walla Walla Park. The Riverfront Park is a very nice place to picnic too. And while your there The Pybus Public Market is another very nice place to visit.

In answer to a previous review, there are plenty of places to park near the loop trail. Starting at the north end on the Wenatchee side is Confluence Park, which is in the Washington State Parks system, so requires a Discovery Pass ($30/year or a $10/day fee). There is access to the loop trail along with trails within the park. There is a children's play area along with picnic pavilions and public restrooms in the park. There is a public swimming beach with picnic tables near the east end a bit south of the boat launch. Moving south there is some street parking along Hawley St. and the next public parking lots are accessed across from the Town Toyota Center, which is on Walla Walla Ave. There are several lots. To the left/north is one for the softball fields and another one that is closest to the restroom, childrens play area, volleyball sand court and swimming. This is the only public beach access in the city of Wenatchee because south of here the bank is too steep along the river. A right/south turn takes you to a couple of pavilions great for covered picnics (which can be reserved). There is a small parking area off 9th Street. Proceed straight west toward the river through several lights. It is mainly used for river access by the Row and Paddle Club. There is a dock there for paddlers. Island View and 5th Street are the access and parking areas for the middle of the Wenatchee side of the loop and park. This is also where the rides are during Apple Blossom Festival. (5th Street has a bridge under the train tracks when the other routes east to the river are blocked.) North Worthen Street has some street parking nearer to Orondo St. and the Pybus Market. Pybus has its own parking around the building and just south of the Orondo St. entrance. There is a large paved area just south of the pedestrian bridge for parking that usually does not fill up on Farmer's Market days which are Wed. and Sat. 8-1. The street just north of Pybus accesses the boat launch and has only a small amount of parking for vehicles without trailers. There is also a public restroom there. The city's Osprey nest is on top of a telephone pole just off the north end of the boat dock at the end of that parking lot. That access road is one way south behind Pybus. The southern access to the park and loop trail below Orondo is on Thurston Street, which is behind the city bus terminal. It has a bridge below the train tracks which allows you to get to the park and Pybus Market if there is a train blocking Orondo Street. South of Thurston is more of an industrial area and there isn't much parking down that way. There are only two public parking areas on the East Wenatchee side of the loop trail. The most southern parking area is at the 19th Street Trailhead. Turn west toward the river at the light for the intersection of 19th and Sunset Highway. The trailhead parking is on the left just before the road angles around a 90 degree turn north where 19th becomes Cascade St. The more northern parking area on the east side is at the 27th Street Trailhead. Both the 19th and 27th Street Trailheads can be accessed from Cascade Street, which runs parallel to Sunset Highway between it and the Columbia River. Cascade Street connects to the highway off the Odabashian Bridge on the East Wenatchee side. The trail also travels south along the East Wenatchee side down to Kirby Billingsley Hydro Park. Driving south on Highway 28 about 3 miles will bring you to that park and lots more parking. We were staying overnight in Wenatchee and wanted a place to walk. So we walked around the park a bit, just before sunset. People were running and cycling, and we felt safe. The city has done a nice job with the pedestrian bridge across the railroad tracks.

This is one of my favorite places to walk or bike and could be a reason to go to Wenatchee just for this. The Osprey nest right off the trail is a huge bonus when the family is in the nest. I've never seen the trail too crowded so it is good for all, young and old.

Very nice riverwalk near Cashmere. Parking is nearby but mostly on the street. Gets busy in the spring and after because it is more of a seasonal type area.

beautiful river front park that is very substantial has many large shady trees , a very smooth path for running ;jogging walking or even biking - also strategically place clean public rest rooms - very family feel to the place

Riverfront Park has a nice paved walkway, with great views of the water and nearby mountains. I liked the sculptures and flower garden along way too, they were very pretty.

Really nice park, I would recomend to everyone. They have a great bike/walking path that does a loop around to other side of the Columbia River. Access it from the area around Phybus Public Market-another must do stop. We happened upon a linemen rodeo when we were there. Fun to watch.
