bayou tavern

I originally went to this tavern because it's close to where I live. I keep coming back because it offers a lot over the competition. The food is consistently very good. The burgers are top-notch, the fries are quite good (they make them extra crispy for me), my wife likes their salads (no pre-cut taste in the greens) and their 'broasted' chicken is the best (be careful not to take a big bite when it first comes out or you'll scald your mouth).The staff is excellent. Jenny (the owner) works days and is a pleasure to visit with. Pamela and Lena are the main swingshift bartenders and both are pleasant and very efficient (especially considering how they can get slammed with orders when it's hopping).The clientele.....hey, it's a tavern right? Good people enjoying good food and cold beer.The place has abundant parking, but is nothing to look at on the outside or inside. Probably my biggest complaint is a lack of selection of the beer on tap and the selection of hard liquor, but I understand the reasoning behind it...they are keeping costs in line and this they do.This will always be our go-to tavern for a quick burger and pitcher of beer.
