This was our first stop in our North Dakota journey. We were more than impressed. We rented the cabin; and it was clean and was far beyond our expectations of "rustic" (as it had electricity; including a/c). The sites were clean and very large. We loved the facilities (bathrooms, showers); playground was awesome. The beach area was very well maintained and the mowed hike made for magnificent views as well as lots to see (flowers, birds, butterflies). We went over the marina and were pleased by all the well-kept boats. We will definitely return! Thanks for the great stay!

A beautiful park. Always very well mowed. The restrooms are always clean. It is a great place to camp and a wonderful view of the big lake.

On a beautiful summer day as it was on our visit we were in awe. The lake is beautiful, the visitors center is beautiful but what I loved most was this little mowed path that I watched my teen be a little girl on again as butterflies were flying, birds were soaring and singing and something was rumbling in the bushes (a little critter) but for a moment it brought back a piece of childhood I so missed. How I wish we had our suits as it was warm enough outside I probably would have loved to bask in the sun and play in the water. The whole area was nicely maintained. Something far from the big city yet still so close to make a day trip out of. Pack your lunch, have a picnic and enjoy watching the smiles.

I came to this park to see/hike the western terminus of the North Country National Scenic Trail. The trail was very nice, unfortunately I could not hike the entire stretch that exists in the park as I was short on time. Very beautiful views of Lake Sakakawea.
