Joined my aunt and uncle at their camper...and had a cabin with my parents for three nights. It wad rustic in the cabin but clean. The camp sites were generous on space and each had a fire pit. We enjoyed the family time to hike, walk, run, and go boating. The museum was super. Like stepping back in time. The Lake Sakakawea is huge and beautiful. We swam and enjoyed the ice cream very much at the state park restaurant/store! Great place for fishing too.

The park was nearly deserted on the October day I visited, but I was still able to enjoy the reconstructed fort containing both a nice museum and a well-stocked gift shop. The fort building was not open when I arrived, but a ranger happily opened up for the two people waiting to look around. There is camping and other facilities here, but I can't speak to them. You look across Lake Sakakawea from the fort and see the Garrison Dam, one of the largest of its kind in the world.

we went for the back to school bash and had a good time. Several bouncy booths set up for the kids and other games for littler ones.

I just stopped by to see the museum on the old fort here. It is a small building with cool displays on how the military used to protect trade along the river. Beautiful views of the Missouri River as well.

In true North Dakota fashion, the place was clean, well kept and mowed to a T. The showers at the campsite were wonderful I would stay there again definitely.

We have been camping at Ft. Stevenson State Park for going on 8 summers now. The park is full of lovely full grown trees and the camp sites range from singles to triple spots (places for 3 campers) with water & electricity. The new north loop has sewer hook ups as well and the spaces are huge, all with trees. The tent areas and even the 'overflow' (too many campers for all the sites) are all well kept and lovely. Kids in the Guardhouse is a Satruday morning craft project for kids of all ages and Friday and Saturday night there is a program at the amphitheater. The park boasts, not one but 2! marinas, nightly slip rental is available and 2 conscession stores. There are 3 boat ramps in the park and numerous trails for hiking and biking.Skydance Kite Festival, Christmas in July, AquaPalooza and the Beach Party are some of our favorite weekends to be at Ft. Stevenson. We've never had anything stolen from our campsite and our kids ride their bikes all over the park with (and without) us. I never worry about them. Being only 3 miles from Garrison, which has a great grocery store, gas stations, hospital, etc. Ft. Stevenson makes your camping dreams come true!Make your reservation today!

Onverwacht beland in het Fort Stevenson State Park. Prima plek om te kamperen bij Lake Sakakawea. Vanaf het gereconstrueerde fort heb je een mooi uitzicht op het meer.
