The whole 20 Mule Team wagon train just fascinates me. The size of the two wagons is just amazing. It's hard to image that just 20 animals (18 mules and 2 horses usually) could pull it- especially in the blistering heat. The walk around the building is fine, but for more information stop at the Museum at the Furnace Creek Ranch. It has lots of stuff to see and read and more items out back in the yard.

Interesting to see how the Borax was removed and you can still see the equipment and there are 2 remains of some outlying buildings. Very close to the Visitor Center

Worth a stop and learn how Borax was mined and extracted in Death Valley. A short path takes you to a display of some of the equipment used to extract the Borax with signage about the process. There is also a 20 mule team wagon theat was used to take the Borax to a shipping point. At 2 miles an hour a roundtrip would take the 20 mule team 30 days.Worth a short visit. Very near Furnace Creek.

Borax was mined here at one time. The old buildings and relics of old wagons are still here. You can hike into the borax canyon. Golden Canyon is right next to this.

Worth a stop if passing by, I never knew what Borax was until reading all the signs. Makes you realise how had our ancestors worked in some dreadful places.

Nothing really great here. A little bit of history, but I didn't see anything to write home about. Only go here if you are interested in the the collection and manufacturing of Borax.

This place has lot of history and the ruins are saved for more than a 100 years. no one can miss this spot on the way to furnace creek

Attended an evening astronomy program here given by the park service. Great place for star gazing, somewhat hard to find in the dark as lighting is purposely muted.

Find this open-air ‘museum’. Park and walk up to the machinery in the ruined building. From there you have a great view across the valley floor with some more runs of buildings that belonged to the mill. Signboards provide information about borax, its ‘mining’ and short history of the Harmony Borax Mill. It’s tangible history and makes for an interesting stop.

Fun to see and read about the mining of borax and the meaning of the twenty mule teams. Part of old west history we heard as children.

Much early history of Death Valley is related to borax mining. The buildings and equipment of the Harmony Borax Works probably have not been moved from where they stood when borax was "mined" here. Much of this "mining" consisted of scraping the borax from the desert floor. It was processed here before loading onto the 20-mule teams and hauled out of the area. There is a short trail that circles the processing equipment and interpretive signs explaining how this was done. We walked there along a paved path from the visitor center.

I had no idea what borax was until we stopped. It was very interesting to read how they made borax. I walked into the grocery store at home and Found a boz if 20 mule borax which was neat. It's also a great place for photos. The view is beautiful. It is a nice little walk.

After leaving Dante's view we were surprised by how different this area was. All limestone and very stunning. This is short walk for the parking area, so make sure to stop.
