    要不是身临其境无法感受这壮观的磅礴气势,这是加州一号公路的最精华之处,经过的人无不驻足欣赏,感慨万千。

Very interesting and eclectic collection of various art works. We have a few in the house including a very nice vase.

I believe this used to be called "Nepenthe" and Orson Welles had it built for Rita Hayworth. In any case, the view is spectacular and you can find wonderful unique art provided by local artists. This is truly a "must see" when you travel the Pacific Coast Hwy. When you resume your travel north, do go to Carmel and Monterey, California...you won't be disappointed.

this is a must stop on your trip up or down the coast highway one. There is art work that is stunning and something for everyone. If you just cannot buy something the at the very least go to the cafe and have a cup of coffee and breath in the views!

Lovely gallery where we made a couple of quality purchases after sitting in the cafe and admiring the views. A great place to stop on your drive down the Big Sur. Nice coffee and lunch too.

Loved this place. Lots of stuff from local artists, and the place is much bigger than meets the eye. They have local art on several levels, and a great coffee shop and café on top. Nice stop.

Given a warm, beautiful day this Coast Gallery & Cafe are a wonderful stop while touring Highway 1 through Big Sur!We came from Carmel, targeting around 10:30AM for our perusal of the very interesting art exhibits and to dine on the rooftop overlooking the highway with an expanse of the Pacific Ocean. The food portions are large so splitting an order makes the cost an actual value. We thoroughly enjoyed salmon lox with creme cheese, bagel and assorted peppers, onions and capers. The gallery location is 18 miles from the Bixby Bridge overlook to the North and 6 miles heading towards McWay Fall to the South. http://goo.gl/maps/UNO5a (paste into browser)Note: When you reach the entrance arrow to Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park just park along the highway and walk into the State Park for the short stroll down to view the gorgeous Fall or to the Southern end (west side of highway) for the Overlook Trail steps down to the Fall vistas!Enjoy and don't forget to stop!

Stopped into the gallery during a weekend trip to Big Sur. It's a beautiful little gallery on the coast. It also has a little cafe with some great views.

We started by spending most of a week in the peninsula of California. We traveled by plane toMexico, bussed across the peninsula and spent 4 - 5 days watching the whales and touchingthem in a small boat. They wanted to be rubbed as it was mating season and they were lookingfor companionship! To not disturb them too much, we were limited in the amount of time wewere out in the waters - going out twice a day for about an hour. If you like nature and beingsprayed by the whales, it's a treasure!Following this visit we traveled back across the peninsula and took a plane to southern Calif.and traveled by car up Highway 1 stopping now and then to see the beautiful sights, ocean viewsand scenery.

Any drive along the Big Sur Coast is special beyond words. But stopping to enjoy the beautiful sights, perfect ocean views and delicious food at Coast Gallery & Coast Cafe puts the entire experience over the top! Old redwood water towers create the architecture for this incredible art gallery and gourmet cafe. Very local and USA creations fill sunlit rooms. Glass, paintings, photography, jewelry, wind chimes, rustic birdhouses and more! It's all too fantastic. And then....breakfast or lunch at the Coast Cafe where meals are also locally crafted. We indulged in a house specialty chicken casserole, Big Sur turkey sandwich, Oreo cookie cheesecake, and a couple of espresso coffees...we were soaring. Right up there with the California condors who graced us during our meal. All sun drenched and ocean air. Nice crowd but not crowded. Staff was ever so friendly and engaging. The gallery has been there for decades. The cafe re-opened three years ago and provides a wonderful respite from an already relaxing retreat along the Big Sur Coast.

We pulled off Highway 1 in search of coffee.this little cafe had big service and a great Latte. We shared a jam croissant which was fresh and well made. The view was excellent from the deck top dining area. When we pulled in there were three cars. By the time we left the lot was full. There is a couple of art shops below that have a wide variety of interesting items. We would stop again.

My first trip to Coast Gallery was 1983, my last one 1993. It's easy for a gallery to change its aesthetic over the years, but Coast Gallery is still full of wonderful artwork you won't see anywhere else. I bought my first "art" kaleidoscope there in 1983, and bought another one this trip. Glad they are still there and showing us the work of wonderful artists!

My fiance and I went up from LA to San Francisco by car through CA-1. People who like breath taking views and incredible beaches need to go. While on the road we need to stop on a sign which said: "Sealions view". We can see hundreads of them just lied resting there. The road can be dangerous in some places, lot of tiny turns and moutains. Stop in the small cities located on the coast to have a nice meal. Have a nice drive.

The Big Sur is a lovely place to be but not on Memorial Day weekend when you are competing with a million others at every breathtaking vista.Fortunately, the Coast Gallery was a lovely reprieve from the maddening crowd. It not only is an interesting gallery but prepares some good meals. Service is simple and the paininis we saw others opting for certainly looked pretty bland. We opted however for a gorgeous spinach salad, full of interest and flavour with walnuts, orange and a blue cheese dressing. We also shared a yummy charcuterie plate with beautiful soft cheeses, salami, pancetta, marinated peppers and relishes. Oh, I should mention a pretty fine view too. Loved it
