Watch out for the gas prices ! ! !This is legally stealing !So, fill up in Monterey but never in Big Sur.You will feel like a fool and it says "no gas station next 40 miles" !Monopoly next 40 miles ;-)

Make sure you fill your gas tank before heading to the BIg Sur area. We went in a nice gift shop and I was curious on the price of gasoline. I was shocked to see $5.49 for regular. I bought a nice ball cap to add to my collection from the price I saved by having 3/4 of a tank when we arrived

Any trail head with flushing toilets gets an A from me. If you're backpacking parking is $5 a night which is a deal compared to other parks.

traveling down route 101 S., this is the first stop when she do have a few restaurants about 45 miles north. The restaurant bathrooms next to the market were very dirty.

They are helpful and a great source for Big Sur. We had trouble finding Pfeiffer Beach, and they helped us get there, and enjoy a great afternoon.

The station was closed every tme we went there. The maps outside were nice, and theaccess to trails in the big sur was terrific. Can stop here to find a trail that is dog friendly.Note: what they are calling "easy" would be moderate at any other campground, and strenuous is only for aerobics instructors who are rock climbers on the side… But if's a great place to park, big sur station, to get to the trails.

Big Sur station is a ranger station operated by Caltrans, the Los Padres National Forest, and California State Parks. They do an amazing job of keeping the entire Big Sur area a great place to visit. The station is 26 miles south of Carmel near the actual town of Big Sur, California. There is a Nature Station Store here with books, trail maps, and related materials. As with the rest of the Big Sur area, the area is scenic. There is a restroom here as well.In terms of visitor centers, its an average one to visit. In terms of staff, they are stellar.I gave this place an average rating as it is NOT a must see stop on the Big Sur route unless you want to stop.

This was a nice little stop for us on the long Pacific Coast Highway drive. We stopped here to use the bathroom and stretch our legs a bit. The shops had an eclectic selection, there was a restaurant and a general store as well. You could walk down by the creek where there were some great photo opportunities. Good place to stop if you're in need of a break from the car!

Stopped here to stretch our legs on our trip along the pacific coast from la to san fran. Some really beautiful views, nice picturesque spots. Good place to stop, stretch your legs, get a post card maybe, have a bite to eat. Check it out !

With good food and restroom, I did stop and liked. The gas was expensive, but considering the region I do not expect anything different

Mountains on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. The place where the mountains come down to the ocean and redwoods add to the attraction of the mountains. WOW!

It was really an amazing experience to while visiting Bigsur. You can see the pacific ocean on one side of CA1 and mountains on other side.. feels fantastic. You travel at such an altitude that you feel that you are travelling in clouds.
