The area around the amusement park is bustling with people and rides. It is to be expected, but our preference is a quieter walk along the beach. It was nice to see the beach volleyball players and the families enjoying the beach.

Remember the famous 1964 song by the Drifters: "Under the boardwalk, we'll be havin' some fun". Well the old boardwalk is still there and drawing crowds. A wonderful place for all ages to enjoy the rides and excitement. The 1911 carousel is still taking the young at heart on rides of fun.

Beach Boardwalk includes videogame arcade, lazer tag, amusement park rides like roller coasters and haunted houses and right on the beach for playing volleyball. Parking right across from boardwalk very close free when boardwalk closed like on weekdays in spring but costs money when rides are open on weekends and summer. Arcade open even when rides closed. Can walk to nearby wharf and see fish and chips restaurants and sea lions under pier. Wharf also has parking but that always costs money to park there.

It you are looking for a retro fun family activity, this is the place to visit.I have gone here many times over the years, enjoying free concerts, junk food, and old school video games. Everyone we have taken here loves it.Prepare to pay for parking when you go.

The Board walk is something to see but not for me. Lots of activities for kids. Kids everywhere. Lots of volleyball nets for volley ball. Great place to people watch. Our kids being grown so it wasn't for us. We prefer more natural beach less games, rides, kid stuff. If would great for teenage kids, college students ect..

I went with my family in winter break, when my niece visited me from Chile.I like the boardwalk, but was only a few rides open, I don't know why because when in the weekend and vacation time. Also is open late and close early. In summer is it very fun and very busy with people. It is niece to spend time in the Boardwalk and take a break in the beach.

We found Santa Cruz a very interesting place to visit, with attractions like the Boardwalk, nearby Roaring Camp Railway and the Mystery Spot, all thoroughly enjoyable. We decided to walk the Boardwalk on a Wednesday and found that all but King Neptune's Kingdom were closed, they are open weekends during Winter.(need to check their website for times). However walking through with no attractions running and very few people provided a surreal experience, akin to a vintage B-class horror movie set in an abandoned theme park. The mood was quite upbeat for the few people we met there; we had ice cream by the ocean, with the Santa Cruz pier in the distance. Thoroughly enjoyable time there, quiet and strange

ok if your a fan of the movie, Lost Boys then you must come to the SC Board Walk where they filmed the movie. The board Walk is fun and nostalgic. Pier food, stores, carnival type rides for the kids and in the fall ( October) they do it up scary with rides and hauntings. And it's right on the beach!

Didn't want to ride anything or play arcade. Beach was very busy ast the weather was unseasonably warm. Lots of volleyball going on. It was fun to watch some salsa dancing going on at the other end, but when we came back by after dinner when it was dark, it looked like it could get a little "frenzied". We did have a good dinner at Fire Fish Grill, which I will review. Maybe I should have gone some other places in Santa Cruz, but at this point, I have no desire to go back. :(

"all the fun of the fair' on the beachfront. Not exactly a "boardwalk' more a funfair built along the beach front. Its a bit of a walk from downtown Santa Cruz so beware. I wan;t feeling well so didn't try any of the rides but it was very busy (Tuesday in February) and everyone seemed to be having a good time
