This is a great course, very scenic and a memorable experience to play here for sure. Greens were very fast but I really enjoyed the challenge. It was a great customer experience and super friendly with all staff interactions. It will be fun to watch the LPGA event in a couple of weeks and remember the great round at this course.

We really enjoyed playing Aviara. The staff is outstanding and very accommodating. The course is in great shape and a lot of fun to play. The greens are monsters and quite difficult. To top it off....the course is BEAUTIFUL! Flowers and blooming shrubs are everywhere.

My second favorite course in the world behind a tie for Ballybunion in Ireland and the Plantation Course on Maui. This is where I leaned to play the game at the academy. Big issue is The Crossings only a couple of miles away offers a similar venue for a lot less money. Yep Aviara caters to the rich and famous but I cannot believe the golf course is financially viable. Give us locals a break !!

We played at Aviara as part of a three night "stay and play" promotion at the end of December, 2014. The course is interesting, challenging, and visually impressive. Service was exceptional.

Playable for both the long and short hitter. Resort style so you can shoot a good score. They had the greens running super fast so stay below the hole on your approach shots. Superby maintained. Skip the after round cookie they offer, not very tasty.

I played this course only because the LPGA had recently been there. I thought everyone that worked there were extremely nice and helpful. The starter was great too. I thought it was pretty cool to be able to play the holes the same way the LPGA did and they had score cards just for that. The course was in great condition. I had played La Costa Champions the day before and this course was head and shoulders above. Everything about this course was fantastic. Great lay out and great conditions. Well worth the money.

Also played here on our trip to San Diego and it is another course in great shape with a nice challenging layout.

Truly lovely, top-of-the line golf course with undulating areas that are challenging. Perhaps current drought is showing here on the fairways--not as lush as usual. Still, really a treat, and of course quite expensive. But getting on at Torrey Pines--my first choice in Southern California, the public course to the south-- is next to impossible.

Even if your scorecard says otherwise. The Palmer designed course is top end with lots to offer. Elevation change, quick greens, well landscaped, good and fair layout. Top course to play in So Cal.

One of the or maybe "the" most beautiful golf course I have ever played and fabulous service from the muffins & coffee at check-in to the cold towels and cookies at the end of the round!

Played yesterday at aviara - it is an exclusive facility and everyone there presents a very friendly and professional attitude from the moment you pull up.I booked a 2.30 tee time and paid $160 inc cart and water - which was ok value. Play was quick for 6 holes then I caught up with a very slow group who seemed oblivious to anyone behind them hacking round the course. Still finished by sunset though! The course was in generally good shape with excellent tees and greens - however the fairways were not so excellent and certainly the rough had a 'waste area' feel to it in parts. Anyway the views were fantastic esp at sunset and the course is maintained and presented as expertly as can be expected at this time of year with the drought and the current works being undertaken on the course. Was given a voucher for some free chicken wings after the round and had a beer also which was good.Would return but only at the cheaper rate - $220 rack rate is prob too steep

I enjoyed my round at Aviara yesterday, though I didn't play well. I had gone to an LGPA tournament there some months ago, and when the opportunity to play the course presented itself, I jumped at it. The course, which is in immaculate shape, is hilly. The par three holes are spectacular, but some of the other holes are average. The 18 TH hole is very difficult with a lot of water and a narrow fairway. The marshals are friendly and helpful. At the end of the round the staff cleans your clubs and give you a tasty chocolate chip cookie. The price to play the course is steep, and I probably won't play there again, as there are so many other courses in the local area that are more reasonably priced.

Our family has been traveling from the midwest to Carlsbad to play golf at Aviara Golf Club for over ten years. This Palmer designed course is one of the most beautiful courses in all of Southern California. At first, the extra large greens appear to make hitting the green easier, but then the challenge of putting 50 feet makes you understand how crucial it is to get close to the pin. The par three’s are all botanical masterpieces. Par four holes 9 and 16 will challenge you to drive the green and putt for eagle, but won’t make it easy. The par five’s seem to go on forever. This is a truly challenging course.Along with this marvelous golf course, comes a fabulous team of professionals that make each day spent at the club a real pleasure. Renny and his staff of professionals are all top notch. The starters, Joe and Jerry, are fantastic and practically institutions. Luke, Jaime and Blaze in the bag room can’t be beat. Returning to this club each year is like returning home and we are never disappointed in the course or the professionals that maintain the high quality of the property and experience.

The awesome beauty of this course is breathtaking and it is obvious why the LPGA has made it their choice. The water features, Pro shop, carts, and the manicured greens set this apart from any of the area courses. My son is a member and this is his home course, so the many annual visits afford me with this luxury at his doorstep. It is a shame a old amateur such as myself cannot take full advantage of a course built for an ace linksman, however, I do enjoy the service and the scenery. If the opportunity arises, don't miss out on a chance to experience this memorable course.
