Beautiful even on an overcast day. The water was extremely cold, but it was a fun experience being at the beach enjoying nature the way it was intended to be.

Went horseback riding along the beach right before Thanksgiving. Weather was windy and rainy but still beautiful with the ocean and waves. Little did we know how big the waves would be!!! We didn't think they would allow us to travel on the beach with waves crashing to shore so violently! We were engulfed in water but, thankfully, our horses saved the day as animals always seem to know what to do. Though, shaken, wet and cold I will still rate it as an awesome experience because I can look back at a wonderful memory. Maybe wouldn't go on the beach in bad weather....I'd certainly rethink that....but overall, BEAUTIFUL!

This location is great for family beach getaways. It has bbq pits and picnic tables and RV access. Great views await you and the trek to the beach is an easy one for all.

This beach is probably par for state beaches, but nothing to brag about. The parking is terrible. We stayed for about an hour and was ready to leave. They were redoing the RV parking. Looks like it will be nice when finished. Full hook ups at all sites. No trees for shade. Restrooms left something to be desired.

My friend and I were staying in San Fran for the weekend and decided to drive out to Half Moon Bay. Absolutely amazing! Just a short beautiful drive along the coast from San Fran, and completely worth it! The Hot surfers also made this a must see attraction :)

In less than an hour through the winding road of CA92 which was so busy due to the wonderful weather we had over the weekend. Magnificent views of the blue bay, surf crashing to shore and cool breeze. Wild mustard flowers in a joyful contrast to the greenery and blue water of the bay. An easy getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Spend an hour, an afternoon or overnight.

We parked our car and thought the parking was a little steep at $10 for a state park. It does provide quick access to the beach and looks like camping is available in the nicer weather. You can park along Kelly Street for nothing and walk a few blocks. I imagine is much more crowded in nicer weather which might justify the $10 parking.

Want an amazing place to walk and see the coast? Well come see the state beach, just gotgeous. Interesting plaques to read about the vegetation and coastline. Dog friendly, child friendly and just overall awesome place to walk. Don't miss this gem.

The weather at Half Moon Bay can be much cooler than the areas around it. It is also often very foggy. Very long beach area , water can be dangerous with rip tides . Traffic getting in and outof Half Moon Bay area can take hours more than usual if it is a week-end or holiday. So if yougo prepared for the weather and the traffic you will be rewarded with stunning views at a truly beautiful part of the Pacific Ocean.

At about an hour's run from the Bay Area, this beach is perfect for a quick getaway. The beach is clean and the view is spectacular. Even in February it not too cold, in fact it's sunny & warm out there. It is not overly crowded or commercialized. The authorities charge a $10 parking fee but there is free parking available in the adjoining residential area if you are willing to walk about half a mile. Definitely worth a trip!

This really is a stunning beach. The walk along the cliffs is beautiful however it is so lovely on the beach that you may want to walk down there. The sea breaks so beautifully onto the sand. There are often people riding along the beach having fun. The car parking is approx. $10 a day and there are rangers around so make sure that you pay and display.

Sunny, Beautiful, with higher than usual surf, it was spectacular in January. What a great visit for someone from the East Coast. A truly awesome example of one of the finest California beaches and there are many!

We rented a car for a day trip down Highway1 and our first stop was Half Moon Bay State Park. If you plan to spend the day and make this your home base, it is worth paying the $8 parking fee . We were just stopping for information on the area and to take a quick look at the beach so it really wasn't the best use of our money. The people at the visitor's center were really helpful and friendly. It was a cool day so we didn't spend much time on the beach. The campground was closed and there weren't many people around. The paved biking/walking path along the bay is really cool and if you are planning to walk either it or the beach, this is a great place to start from.

The beach is good for walking on and watching surfers. It is clean and pretty but the beach is steep and the surf is very rough making it too dangerous to play in the water here.
