Locals walk here, but most of California isn't aware of this lovely state park. Mostly flat, this has wetlands, forests, creeks, sand dunes, a beach and a lake, something for everyone.

This place needs to be cleaned up, I am sure it might have been a great beach walk but we were afraid to leave anything in our car. My thoughts were if this is the type of person that lives in the neighborhood, what would they do with a car full of bikes etc. Sorry for the bad review California budget cuts hurt

We took the southern access via North Pebble Beach Dr to reach the park. It was near sunset so we experienced a very nice view. The meadows with lots of winding trails that led down to a very secluded beach complete with tidal pools, rock formations and plenty of driftwood. You could spend a whole day hiking around Lake Tolowa and through these meadows. Definitely a highlight of our stay in Crescent City it provided a definitive contrast to a morning amongst the giant trees.
