We come to Yosemite Valley every spring for a 3 or 4 day mini vacation with the extended family. The NPS Visitors Center always has the latest info on weather & what's happening in the Park. The exhibits are educational & brought up-to-date from time to time.

Nothing much to see here, worth a visit if you need guidance from the NPS rangers on treks and the like, otherwise not much else to see.

The exhibits at the visitor center are very interesting, showing old pictures of the early beginnings of Yosemite. Really enjoyed the two half hour movies in the theater with breathtaking views of the area and enjoyed learning the history of how Yosemite became a National Park.

OK, World class scenery in May and Spring. But this ,for 1000s of years, was the home to an amazing tribe and culture, the Awahneechees. So whenever i visit, i MUST pay my respects to a native California indian and great park interpreter, Mrs. Julia Parker, at the VVC and indian museum. There is an indian village and ancient graveyard to explore. But check out Mrs. Julia's wikipedia page before you go.

make this a first stop before going off on any adventures. They have an excellent section on the history of Yosemite, an Indian Village and helpful rangers. Also they show two short films for more in depth background into Yosemite.Spend an hour.

I was here in the winter and the visitor center was extremely crowded with long lines of tourists waiting just to ask rangers questions. I noticed both rangers were extremely friendly with each visitor. With it as busy as it was and all the repetitive questions they were very professional.

This is a small informative place to get your bearings and learn some interesting stuff about the park and its history. This is a diversion from all the great natural sights in the park and is almost a mini-museum about the park. Good place for kids to learn more about the park and the Native American history. The outdoor replica of a Native American village is also worth exploring.

It is a beautifully maintained visitor's center. It's full of great information. There are lots of beautiful gifts and souvenirs there. There is a very nice museum that is free to enjoy. The bathrooms are very nice, which is a treat after using some of the more rustic bathrooms within the park.

Small center, but info regarding the formation of the area is interesting. Posted information on road, campsite and trail availability ( and closures) is very helpful. The Ken Burns film on the development, history and characters of the park is a great overview. And the safety warnings could save your life! The dangers in this most beautiful location are not to be taken lightly.

The over all information available at the Visitors Center is extensive. If you go through the glass doors directly opposite the entrances door you can take a short walk through an area that explains about the Native Americans who inhabited the Yosemite Valley. Very worth while little excursion.

While this is in a sense a typical National Park visitor center, with what you expect from one of those (information, souvenirs, books, snacks, exhibits, and those oh-so-important restrooms), it is a visitor center in a spectacular park, and an important stop on your visit. Plan on doing it.

It gives you information on what you may want to see first, not to miss anything. They have great souvenirs and great fast foods to buy and enjoy with your picnic. I still have some rocks and nice jewelry I bought. A must, with super bathrooms, and place to sit and enjoy a treat.

VERY VERY helpful volunteers! We had a short visit and needed intel on what to see first. Thank You so much for helping us decide on a plan. This is a popular place to be patient with parking.
