wargin wines

This winery was recommended to us by our favourite hotel in California, as a place with unique and outstanding wines, run by wonderful people. We first visited Mikael and Denise at their tasting room about a year ago, and were immediately impressed with the knowledge and hard work that has gone into launching this label. This guy has a ton of experience in the industry, and being young, is also highly innovative and adventurous in his approach to wine and business. The wines were AWESOME, and really reasonably priced, and as Canadians we are highly limited in what we can bring across the border, so we could only bring back two bottles last trip, and we held onto them as special until we knew we were returning and we have just picked up another round of bottles. This tasting room is shared with a couple of other independent small lot producers, and is in a warehouse area just near the Watsonville airport. It is only about 20 minutes from downtown Santa Cruz, and just off the Pacific Coast Highway. Wargin Wines is a label to watch. Give them a try :) We are now huge fans!
