Great wines. Nothing fancy about the tasting room, but very nice outside patio and open spaces just to sit and relax and enjoy this country setting without city noise and hussle and bussel.

The wine at Hunter Hill is good, with as nice selection of whites and reds for a reasonable tasting fee. I've been there several times and have always found the tasting room staff to be very friendly. What sets this winery apart from others in the area are the very pretty grounds outside the tasting room. You can walk around a pound, enjoy flowers and walk alongside the vineyard. There are chairs on the grass where you can sit and sip your wine. It is very relaxing.

Where I live I am surrounded by winery's and Hunter Hill is one of my favorites! It's beautiful and the owners are down to earth good vibe very hospitable people! The grounds where the tasting room is are very lovely to sit and drink some wine and make new friends! Take a picnic and enjoy yourselves! You will be glad you did!

We purchased a wine passport and spent the day tasting. We looked forward to tasting at Hunter Hill. However, after we worked our way to the front of a busy counter, we were told that they no longer participate. And yet they were printed in the program. The pourer seemed more than a little frustrated and we were made to feel like we had made the error. The pourer laid out what hey could do, but we were not treated the same as members at the counter. The waterfall and pond landscaping were well done. The wine was good.

We were wine tasting in the Santa Cruz mountains and some friends of ours told us we had to visit Hunter Hill. Now, realize that each experience can be different, however, we didn't have the same experience as our friends apparently had. First off, the tasting fee of $5 each is *not* applied toward a purchase as almost every other winery I have ever visited does. Also, they have a lovey picnic area--that charges $10 for the use(yes, on top of the wine tasting fee). The two women who were pouring in the tasting room were uninterested in us or the wines, they couldn't remember where they left off in our order of tasing (we were the only ones tasting, they were visiting with each other and one other person in the tasting room). When we asked a question, they didn't know the answer and a couple of times asked the other gentleman they were visiting with if he knew the answer. Very unprofessional and it turned us off from visiting again. The wines were OK.
