We have followed this winery since Peter and Paul started in a garage down the hill from their current spectacular site. The outstanding wines speak for themselves. The winery has become a favorite place to visit for its idyllic bay view location, the friendly staff, and, of course, its terrific wines. The drive up the hill is a bit challenging, but you will be amply rewarded when you arrive.

Soquel Vineyards always has the best events. The food from the visiting chef was amazing. The Library wines we tasted, over the top delicious. They recently remodeled and added more seating to make it even more comfortable. And what can I say about the unbelievable view?

This is the best of the local wineries to visit if you are truly interested in great wine. It also has a lovely location. I live in Soquel & have been part of their wine club for years. Some of the other local wineries have much fancier buildings, but this has the best wine, by far!

This winery is in a beautiful valley just up the road from Soquel Village. The drive past small farms, open meadows, and deep redwoods opens up to this small, family-owned winery in the Soquel HIlls. The wine is wonderful and there is plenty of room to sit outside and take in the breeze off the ocean. I highly recommend a visit.

A visit to Soquel Vineyards starts with an arduous drive to the top of a mountain!! Not any mountain, a mountain with an awesome view of the ocean! But once there, you will be asking yourself why you've never been here before... This is the very best of the boutique wineries in Santa Cruz County. With luscious fruity Zins, smooth oaky Chards, bold flavorful Cabs, mellow local Pinot, you will taste everything Peter and Paul have to offer and, again, ask that question... Where have I been? Then add some of the best "tastes" of the Santa Cruz area chefs, you could spend the day here!

I have visited this winery many times over the past 12 years. They have always been very welcoming and personally share their newest vintages along with a comprehensive tasting of varietals. The wines are outstanding and have cellared exceptionally well. Their Pinot Noirs, in particular, are world-class. This winery is reasonably accessible and should be on any Santa Cruz area wine tasting itinerary.

After living nearby for many years we finally made it up the hill to Soquel Vineyards for a tasting. The afternoon weather was extremely cooperative with bright sunshine and a cool breeze. I can see why the grapes like it so much up there. We tasted the 2010 Pinot Noir and a Zinfandel. In the process we stumbled into a barrel tasting of a future Pinot Noir bottling.Peter was our host and brother Paul was kicking around there too. There were quite a few tasters coming and going so they had a divided venue - some tastings inside and some outside. We did the inside but would have been equally well treated in the outside venue. The wine was excellent. We have our own wine cellar and we drink wine nearly every day. Pinot Noir is one of our more favorite wines - for certain times of day or certain days. I general we prefer large Cabernets or heavy Zinfandels. This wine was good enough for me to purchase two cases plus two bottle for immediate consumption. I recommend the wine and the winery experience both. The town of Soquel has several gems in her crown and this is definitely one of them.

Soquel Vineyards is on a beautiful location with a view of mountains and ocean. The owners are always warm and welcoming. They have a fun tasting on their patio many week-ends. They also fire up their outdoor pizza oven on many weekends and the pizzas are amazing! Last time I visited they made a Cesar Salad pizza! Who would have thought! Was delish! Love their wines also! We have been members of their wine club for many years and suggest you join too!

Soquel Vineyards sits in the Santa Cruz Mts off Highway 17. First off, the wines are excellent. We tasted the 2010 Meyley Chardonney. Dry at first with a gentle smooth touch of fruit. Not buttery at all. We bought a bottle to take home. Next was a special very dry Chardonnay close to a fine French Chablis called Olivia's after the young wine graduate who worked that day in the tasting room. She crafted the wine and is receiving very positive reviews for her work. It would go very well with mussels. We took home two bottles. The 2010 Pinot was very good and another bottle home. By then I was ready to take Sangiovese without even tasting it. Olivia knows what she is doing! We had some good discussions about various European comparisons to Soquel wines. Peter, One of the two owners and vintners helped her and us with the wine sales and took,us up to home garden area next to the shop. Beautifully landscaped with a great view, it was getting ready to receive a large group. Still they took time to show us the grounds and discuss the wines This is an excellent winery that I can recommend without any reservation.
