Warm & inviting tasting room. Eric was wonderful. Thanks for a great experience. Would definitely return and recommend to others.

Have been to Napa, Sonoma and Paso Robles... this tasting room stacks up along the same lines. The fireplace sitting area is warm and inviting. It was our 1st stop of the day and the wine was pretty good. I didn't know what to expect after visiting Napa and Sonoma, but was pleasantly surprised. If you decide to wine taste in Santa Barbara, this is a must!

We have experienced many tastings and meals at Napa wineries. As well, we belong to several wine clubs...point being this is not our first rodeo. We decided to "check out" a few Santa Barbara area wineries while visiting Malibu. Since we had a two hour drive I decided Roblar and it's Perfect Pairing would be our first stop. For $30 we tasted 5 wines and enjoyed four delicious tapas style pairings followed by a slice of fabulous chocolate torte. Our food included: a cauliflower soup with Parmesan crostini, endive stuffed with cheese, nuts, etc., a chicken burger slider and duck prosciutto. Honestly, each item was so good I would have had seconds (even thirds). The wines were good enough that we purchased 4 cases for ourselves and guests. Excellent pricing. The tasting room was very nice. We sat around a coffee table in front of their fireplace. I think the only thing I wish were different is that we didn't get much of a "talk". I always find it interesting to learn about the winery, which grapes are grown on the property, etc. I would have enjoyed a tour of the property as well if it were a warmer day. Maybe next time! I'm sure we'll return.

Our first visit here was with friends who were members so we were whisked upstairs to the private deck. The views were phenomenal, the wines were delicious, and our pourer was quite a character with great knowledge. We became members that day.Our shipments, by the way, have also been fabulous. We just went back to take advantage of a members-only dinner. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate me when I said I had forgotten to mention I was a vegetarian. They bent over backwards to prepare a good meal for me. The wines, again, were delicious and paired great with dinner. Bottles were available to us for 30% off so I stocked up. I am so glad I became a member and can't wait to go back.

We arrived just after 11am. On the door, and on the website, it says they open at 11am. The front door was locked. There are two bathrooms near the front door, facing the parking lot, and they were locked. We found a side door and went through a dining room to the tasting room. There was no one there. After a minute a guy came out of a back hallway. He was eating a muffin. He said he "would be right with" us and disappeared back into the hallway. We disappeared out the way we came in and back into our car.

On September 21, 2014 I visited the Sant Ynez wine country for my birthday. I love this area and have visited many times. I have also visited Roblar a number of times and have had great experiences there. The wines are very good and having the food pairings with your tastings is always an enjoyable experience. This vist however was probably the worst experience I have ever had from a customer service perspective, in any type of winery, restaurant, hotel or any other establishment centered around serving a cutomer. From the moment I walked in Billy, the tasing room manager had a seriously bad attitude with me. I asked for a tasting and decided on the premiere tasing. I informed Billy that I was not much of a Chardonnay drinker and he rudely procalimed that I had never tried their Chardonnay and poured me the Chardonnay anyway. I handed him back the Chardonnay and repeated that I was not a Chardonnay drinker and asked if I could try the Sauvignon Blanc instead, at this point Billy rudely proclaimed that I had told him that I liked Cardonnays and left with the glass of Chardonnay. A few seconds later a very nice young lady showed up and started helping me. She poured me the Sauvignon Blanc and began telling me about the rest of their wines. About ten minutes later she convinced me to try the Chardonnay. Re-enter Billy. When I told her I would try the Chardonnay Billy from all the way across the room yells at me "You've got to be kidding I just poured a whole glass of Chardonnay down the sink because of you" I thought I must be hearing things, this man did not really just yell at me in front of a tasting room full of people? A few minutes later I asked Billy if I could talk to him outside. I told him that I felt he was being rude to me, to which he responded, "Well I have never had a customer before who couldn't make up their mind like you".At that point I was highly insulted and and informed Billy that I considered him rude and that I was going to cash out and leave. When I went in to cash out the young lady offered to comp my tasting since I worked at a winery part time, I refused the comp and told her I did not want anything free from that experience and would rather pay. Before I left I informed Billy that it was my birthday that day and that I would be contacting someone to share my experience. His Response? "That's Fine"

After riding on a tour in Napa, I rode on a Grapeline tour in Santa Ynez, wondering how wrong I could go, and I found out. This was the first winery and was like a cariacature of Robert Mondavi. We got a "tour" of the winemaking facility where they don't make any wine and saw grapes that apparently don't go into many of the wines made there. The tour guide, supposedly also the manager, didn't know anything about wine beyond the script that he was following and compensated by pouring several extra wines that weren't on the list. There was also a lot of "retasting" (wink, wink), so that a lot of people got better than half a bottle of wine into them before noon, with three more wineries still to visit. The wines were all over the place, literally, with no one even able to tell me where the pinot noir was made, yet that's the specialty for this region. It has a great location next to the highway and a big parking lot, so the owner seems likely to get his money's worth without having to develop any sort of reputation.

We were lucky enough to participate in a special dining experience, hosted by Chef Guillermo. We had four courses with wine pairing, dining on their beautiful shaded patio on a gorgeous day. We were wowed by Guillermo's watermelon appetizer, which was topped by a feta mousse, chopped red pepper, and some delicate basil oil. Literally every little snack was perfectly paired with one of Roblars great vintages, including a fine port with dessert. Afterwards, we received an arbor tour from Shay, who really knows his stuff! First class experience.

Only had time to visit a few wineries while in California and this one turned out to be our favorite. We tasted some great wines and this was the only winery we purchased any wines from. The winery is beautiful and you are welcome to relax on their patio and just rest and enjoy yourself. Would definitely go back to this winery.

If anyone knows Billy who used to be at Curtis, well he is at Roblar now. I never tasted their wine until recently and OMG they are amazing. They have a chef they do weddings beautiful grounds and their wines are beyond amazing. I won't go there without Billy talking about the wine and that is an experience in itself. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

Roblar is flexible in their tastings. Though they have a classic and reserve list, the manager poured any wine that we wanted to try (that is, if it was open..and every wine that we requested was!) Though I am picky with wine, I enjoyed every one that I tried. You can also have pairings with food.

We were diverted off the coastal highway due to construction, had to go to the bathroom badly and stumbled into this little paradise on the Fourth of July! Shared an awesome bottle of Sauvignon Blanc with a Haute Dog special they were serving for the holiday. Excellent little seating area under a hyacinth arbor with a little fountain under it. Pleasant surprise on the way to San Francisco!

Guillermo was tending the tasting room. He was knowledgeable and personable. The wines, especially the bigger reds were very good. Very scenic and worthy of a visit.

Very nice facility. Lots of places to sit outside and taste your wine. The counter inside is very large. Gentleman was very pleasant and explained their product. It was a little busy but you didn't feel like you were being ignored or neglected. You could also sit inside and enjoy your wine if you wanted. Looked like a nice place to have an event.
