I visited for the first time last weekend when I followed some of my favorite musicians, 'Dylan's Dharma' to the venue. The winery and tasting room are small but in a beautiful setting in the foothills behind Oroville. I walked around the small lake and over a wooden walking bridge to find the tasting room. The wines are very good and their Barbera is simply divine. (And I don't usually like a Barbera.) I met the winemaker and he told me that they try to keep the sulfites as low as possible. I can tell you that I drank three glasses over the course of four hours and had no backlash. I'm very sensitive to sulfites, so there's a big plus. Also, one of wines is made with organic grapes. This is a new favorite place to visit!

While on a day journey to visit several Sierra Foothills wineries on the Del Oro Trail, we toured Long Creek Winery. What a wonderful experience we had in store for us. The proprietors, Lou and Yola Cecchi made this what the Napa Valley "used" to be known for, tasting very good wine. We were able to taste seven wines without a charge and we had a tour of the winemaking facility by Lou, which was fabulous. Lou teaches viticulture at a local college, is an incredible teacher and passionate about winemaking. This kind of service is what makes a winery a success because someone this passionate about the process and the particulars to produce the wine, helps the average consumer to understand how difficult this is. This was without a doubt the most informative visit to a winery that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I did not want to leave the place and a very wonderful place to visit. When entering the tasting area, please don't pass it by because it is not the huge fancy winery that you sometimes find in the Napa area...but it is one that you will be glad you stopped by to visit. I am writing this review and hope to encourage visitors to stop because when I find something this special, I want to share the news with everyone. This is truly a gem of a place and I hope that you will take the time to stop and visit with Lou and Yola because they will make you feel as if you are a long time friend. Very Exceptional Place!
