We spent the day hiking the nature trail. The trail was very nice and enjoyable to walk with the family. After the walk we enjoyed a glass of apple cider with a turkey sandwich which tasted good. The ranch staff are pleasant and the atmosphere is nice.

Every year the Whitfield family has an annual Fall get-together here. Friends and family join on the lawn for a picnic or grab some of their BBQ sandwiches, play soccer or frisbee and enjoy the turning leaves, crisp cool weather and each others company. Nestled 8 miles up between the mountains in Oak Glen and Yucaipa, this spot is perfectly shielded from the noise of the city below. We enjoyed pressing our apple cider(highly recommend being prepared with warm gloves after), the wagon ride through the orchard, the fried corn, tasting the different butters, sauces and glazes and the walking paths. Gorgeous! Every year it gets better as the kids get older.

If you do nothing else while you are in Oak Glen you need to stop by this roadside attraction and sample the Apple Cider. It is the best in town and at $12 for a gallon jug it is a bargain.

Our weekend visit was definitely a memorable one at this place! The Los Rios Rancho has it all apple picking, corn maze, petting zoo, food, etc. The location is split up between the apple picking and then the "ranch" where they serve food and have a store where you can purchase their amazing apple pies! My favorite part about this place was that it was sort of a one stop shop, and it also had great resting areas with picnic tables and grass where you could kick back and have some pie or eat some of their tasty BBQ. If you are looking for a fun trip with your kids or an adventurous date I would definitely recommend this place. As a tip... remember to bring comfortable shoes, and water bottles! It was extremely hot on the day we went and I had to purchase a lot of water.

I went to a school filed trip with my 3 y.o.kid. I payed $15 for me and my kid. What did we get? 4 tiny slices of apples to try. Kids asked for more than 1 transparent slice but no more than 1 was allowed. Kids saw apple trees full of apples and crates full of apples and apples on the ground, but nothing was allowed to touch. Then kids pet goats and sheep, saw pigs and 1 lama. Then kids watched how to press cider, and after it was done, we got to try half of a plastic cup of cider. The tour was over. I think that for $15 they could have given at least one apple for each family!

If everyone knew, everyone would be here. Oak Glen is a great destination from anywhere in the Inland Empire, at any time. But, if you can get to Rileys at Los Rios Rancho on a weekday, when the air is crisp and the sun is shining, you have hit the experience jackpot. Now (September/October, into early November) really is the time to be there. There's a beautiful hiking trail around the apple and pear orchard, thanks to the efforts and enthusiasm of the Wildlands Conservancy. It's an easy walk to the pond where friendly ducks will come up to you, even if you aren't prepared with crackers or peanuts for them. There's a picnic area, a small restaurant, gift shop, and - let's not forget the real reason we're here! - acres of apple and pear orchards. You can even pick berries in the summer, which is unforgettable.Whether you bring a picnic or purchase food on site, the venue is gorgeous and fresh fruit, from a real local orchard, is an experience which is becoming rarer. For those with kids, a trip to Los Rios Rancho can be real quality family time.

If you like to be outdoors and want fresh apples, come to Rileys in September and October. You can pick a bag worth or a box (about a bushel), and, depending on the week, several varieties are available. We chose to get the box since we wanted to store them for the winter and make several apple cobblers as gifts for the holidays. It was fun to go through the orchards and choose just the right ones for our needs. Great family activity!

For years the Dennis Riley family has resurrected the old Blackie Wilsure apple orchard in Oak Glen, CA. Dennis' son Devon expanded his influence when he assumed management of the historic Los Rios Rancho apple farm several years ago. Owned by The Wildlands Conservancy (another great attraction in Oak Glen if you like nature hikes), Los Rios Rancho was on its way to returning to a wild land preserve without apples. That is, until the Riley's stepped in to make a difference and create one of the best attractions in Oak Glen.Thousands of apple trees, many heirloom species, often provide bumper crops during the fall months. On occasion, other apples grown in California are use so that Los Rios Rancho can offer their tasty apple cider year-round. A cafe offers delicious tri-tip BBQ year-round too.But if you think Riley's at Los Rios Rancho is just a fall get-away-location, think again. This is a year-round-playground. During the winter months you might catch some snow play in their spacious front yard. Hiking the marked paths of the adjacent Wildlands, is great no matter what month you're there. Check out their evening hikes under the moonlight. In the Spring, take advantage of the Apple Blossom Festival. Then there's the Apple Butter Festival, Home Time Jamboree, Chuck Wagon Jamboree, Gospel Nights, Contra Dances and more.Riley's at Los Rios Rancho is always a destination for my family. And if you ever have any question, just ask for Devon. The first time I met him I didn't know who he was. My Infinity I30 blew its radiator just as I pulled into their Raspberry Patch (did I mention now is the time to pick Raspberries and Strawberries?). While waiting for it to cool, My wife and I hunted for some berries. When we got back to our car, a 5-gallon yellow Iglo water container was sitting full of water for me. The man by the gate waiting to let me out (it was closing time) was Devon. Quite a blessing for me as he is to others who stop by to browse the gift shop, buy apples or check out the dates for their fabulously festive Courier and Ives-like Christmas dinner show.

we had a great time, I had not been there for probably thirty years, I cannot say enough good things about the lunch, the BBQ pulled pork sandwiches were huge and very tasty, the cookies were gigantic, and also very tasty, the sides were good, then on to the apple cider press, I must have taken 50 pictures of the Grandkids, (young adults), it was a fun day for all of us. highly recommend. was sorry there no more apples to pick, next year I will have to time it better.

I just can never resist trying out the BBQ when the aroma from the smoker is wafting over the area. We had brisket and pulled pork sandwiches at the apple farm which was pretty good. The sides were great as well. There are nice places to sit outside which was perfect for one the nicest fall days ever. Of course, we loaded up on apples, cider, candies, etc. afterwards. The area is a great way to spend a say, and the drive up is beautiful.

What a Beautiful place to visit. We picked apples and some of the trees were short enough for even the youngest kids to pick their own apples. We had a picnic in the Wonderful park preserve at the back of the property. They also have nature hikes that lead us to their ponds. We plan on going back again before the end of apple season.

very enjoyable - tours, cant wait to go back when its apple harvest time. The ranch is not open on Mondays or Tuesday, so plan your trip accordingly so you don't miss anything.

We went there on Nov 24, 2012. The nature trail was very nice. The apple cider and the country store too. The apple butter contest. Also the man who make real wook cravings was beauitful. Also the hubble 3 d space movie in Los angeles, Ca on nov. 23, 2012 is great. Looking at the stars in space that we could never. But hubble the space telescope let us see the universe. awesome. These places are awesome to see!

I do have a few things I wasn't happy about when I visited this place recently. First off, the apples are not from Oak Glen but from places near Bakersfield, or even Washington. This place has become so commercial that they have to bring in sup par varieties of apples to keep up with the demand. While other ranches shut down when the apples disappear, they still have apples. The Apple pie is another thing. It was BLAND. I am not sure they know about a thing called SUGAR. Pie crust was the worst pie crust I have ever had, and the filling was apples and cinnamon, no sugar. The bbq pork sandwich was dried out pork that they slathered with bbq sauce, thinking that would help, it didn't.

My husband and I have been coming to Los Rios Rancho in Oak Glen since my daughter was born 34 years ago.We look forward to getting the apples (there are many kinds), the cider, a slice of pie and ice cream and browsing in the shops.Over the years they have added vendors selling donut holes, crafts, etc. We went last week and it was 10 degrees cooler than home. You get the fall colors and it feels like Fall.We always brought our kids here every year and my son now has brought his twins here to carry on the tradition. He came all the way from San Diego.
