Worth the drive! The grounds were beautiful. The tour informative. The wine so great quality. Be sure to visit their museum /jewelry store. They have a great collection from California's gold rush history.

Ironstone sure has all the bases covered re having something for everyone. This is the only winery I think that is open daily on a regular basis all year ( many of the Murphys area wineries are open for tastings only on the weekends, or for limited hours, or close for no apparent rhyme or reason outside of the peak season). The 1.5 mile drive up a country rode just off Murphys main street is scenic and well worth it: lined with their signature white and yellow daffodils most of the way, docile cows going to town ( one literally: escapee) or lazily taking advantage of long green grass. The tasting room includes a deli counter ( great sandwiches for $8) and gift items and ready to go chilled wines, some on sale for the super bargain price of $7. The adjacent museum ( a few exhibits and giant gold flake) and antiques-for-sale area overlook a very beautiful view of the vineyards. Have not attended a concert there, but the outdoor amphitheatre is quite large and they have the rep about town for amazing events: not only concerts but wine pairing dinners, etc. Only downside was the staff at the wine tasting counter--lots of detailed conversations with some patrons while literally three different couples awaited any kind of acknowledgement or pour. One lady at the sandwich counter was complaining about how tired she was. Was even difficult prying them away when attempting to make a purchase ( hey, we are trying to give you $$ here!). Adapted and overcame-- obtained both food and drink and had a lovely, leisurely and quiet scenic patio all to ourselves.

I attend the Concours de Elegance here every September. This is how we first started going to Murphys. The grounds at the winery are amazing. The Kautz Family has done it right! The wines are pretty good as well!

We did wine tastings at many of the tasting rooms in Murphys, CA, which we thoroughly enjoyed. But as far as touring a winery, this is the one to do. Tours are at 1:30 each day - at least they were in February. We learned a little about the family, strolled the beautiful arbor, and viewed historic gold mining equipment. We stood by the wine press machineries as our guide described the steps involved.Next, we entered the cave where reserve wines are stored. Our guide shared a few pieces of trivia as well as answering our questions. We exited the caves and continued touring the park-like grounds. She described some of the weddings and concerts that take place here. We wandered through a ballroom where they were setting up for an event for that evening. We were able to view the exquisite collection of antique furniture, silver, chandeliers, etc. and enjoyed a demo of the pipe organ. Then we returned to the tasting room, which is a gem in itself. It holds the largest pit grill I've seen, and the bar itself is also sizable and attractive. Our tour was complete. The servers pouring wine for us were knowledgeable and friendly. After we finished, we wandered across to the museum. You'll want to see that too - especially the largest piece of gold leaf ever!

The beauty of the grounds along with the food. I love to be able to take the prepared food down by the water falls and have a picnic. Wonderful.

Beautiful winery, gorgeous setting and concert venue. However wines served there are just OK. Sparkling wine was too sweet, and most reds were not very good. Only exception was the old-vines Zinfandel, which was good (but not great).

We attended a summer concert at Ironstone Vineyards outdoor amphitheater this past summer! plenty of parking, but arrive early as there is a long line to get into the lot. Food and drink stands a plenty and a quite a nice variety of refreshments as well! We enjoyed a top notch show and the sound quality was magnificent! I was very happy to see all the greenery everywhere! My only suggestion would be that Ironstone increase the number of bathrooms, not port-a-potties, but actual restrooms available.

We ate a big breakfast then took a scenic hike/walk up to Ironstone. We were able to go in and see the beautiful vineyards, the open air venue where concerts are held and they have a museum and gift shop with fascinating historical objects and information.

We just happened to be at Ironstone when they were offering a free tour. I quickly finished my tasting to be on this tour. Best decision all day! If you have the opportunity (it was Sat @1:30) go on this tour. They discuss the size of the property, gave a tour of the museum which includes the infamous 44 lb. gold nugget, how they harvest the grapes (by hand at night), that the tasting room is 6 levels above a hollowed out cave, how they have concerts, special events, and social occasions at the winery, and that you can pan for your own nugget of gold on the property. Did I forget things? Probably! There was so much to see and do that the wine was almost second to the property it is harvested on.

The wine tasting room was spacious and inviting with many things to purchase in addition to wine, cheese and sandwiches. The staff was great and incredibly friendly. We ended up purchasing two bottles of wine. The shops are very neat to see and walk around--the 55 pound gold nugget on display is an instant conversation starter. The day got even better when we started walking around the gardens and the lake. Everything was gorgeous.

We've been to a few events here and think that it is a beautiful place. The atmosphere is amazing. The caves and waterfalls are a fun and unique backdrop to listen to music and enjoy some good wine.

During my very first visit to Ironstone Vineyards in September 2014, it made a very good impression. They hosted their annual antique car show, which was beyond excellent and well worth my time. The grounds are vast, in a beautiful natural setting. I am certainly looking forward to my next visit.

This must see event is held the last weekend of September every year and benefits FFA & 4H. Beautiful cars, beautiful grounds! Over 200 cars this year in a multitude of classes and don't forget to visit the vintage trailer camping area!

Attended the special event - Concorde de Eligance at the winery. It was amazing! The event was very organized and provided spectators with a spectacular collection of autos. The tasting room is beautiful and has a wonderful gift store. The restaurant was over-extended on event day, but on a normal weekend, probably would be fine. Service was, however very polite and the food good. Although we have more wine then we can drink in a century, added 2 new bottles - how could we not, when the wine was so good? Bravo Symphony!
