With farrm country so close, nothing is better than straight off the farm fruits and vegetables. Underwood does a great job of offering up its own product and from other local distributors. A huge selection most of the year. And the farm animals are a nice diversion for the kids. Altho it's sad to see the new fences brought in to keep us from actually being able to hand feed and touch the animals. No doubt the result of some frivolous lawsuit. City folk: farm animals have teeth. They'll bite you if you're not careful!Also keep in mind the Moorpark farm is closed during much of winter, but the Somis station is open year round.

The farm is close to my home and I've enjoyed their fresh vegetables and fruit for years now. Always top quality!

First this is a great fresh fruit and veggie stand just to shop at, but the Farm Experience is great family fun. Kids love being able to pull up their own veggies and they learn so much in the process. The farm also has a petting zoo, slides from giant farm equipment, trains of wood to climb on, an animal show. Most things are included in the entry fee of $6 per person on weekends and $3 week days & children under a certain age are free. They don't have a prepared food stand so bring your own picnic or eat raw fruits and veggies you pick! They do have picnic tables but there is no grilling on site. This is a real gem!

This is our fifth visit here since discovering this little farming jewel. Lots of stuff to keep the little one's busy and burn off energy. You'll find animals to see and some rides to entertain. Since it is a working farm make sure to take home lots of fresh fruit and vegetables when you leave. Our visit today was quiet with no crowds which made it even more enjoyable.

My family (husband, daughter & 2 grandchildren) visited the farm 2 weeks before Halloween & we had an amazing time......as usual!From the corn maze to the petting zoo it was a great way to spend the afternoon!I will have to admit it can be a bit costly but to see the happiness & excitement on my gkids face is worth every penny! The price has gone up to $15/per person :( during the weekends. There is entertainment.....country music! You also get a free ride on the hay wagon with your price of admission and there was a shaved ice vendor who offered free refills all day during your visit!I would also like it to be known that the staff was amazing! I did not see one employee who didn't want to be there! They were all friendly & smiling! We will be returning as long as they continue doing what they do!!! Good times!!

We had a great time at the Fall Harvest Festival! We arrived around 9:30 am (30 minutes after opening) and avoided many of the long lines of automobiles and crowds we witnessed as we were leaving (around 1:30 pm).The festival is very kid-friendly, with pony rides, tractors you can drive, a small train, games, shows, and a petting zoo as well. Some of these require extra tickets.We paid an additional $2/each to ride the horsedrawn wagon around the farm and we'd highly recommend doing the same. The line for the complimentary tractor pull was long. And there's just something special about riding with these large, beautiful draft horses.We thoroughly enjoyed the Animal Show! We arrived to the show area 20 minutes early and were the first ones there. By the time the show began it was standing room only along the exits.The food court had a nice variety, but was a bit pricey. Eat before noon to avoid long lines. I believe you can also bring your own food into the festival. They sell chopped carrots to feed to some of the animals, so if you bring your own you can save money there too. My partner enjoyed the festival more than the L. A. County Fair, probably because this was a functioning farm and the crowds were less. Although it's still an hours drive away, we may return again for 2015!

I love visiting in the fall. It brings the feeling if fall into a not very fall like area. So many varieties of pumpkins and squash.

We took our grandchildren, ages 4 1/2 and 2 1/2, and their parents to Underwood Family Farm. It was $6 each to get in, not bad, but you end up spending more for tickets (I think we ended up spending another $30) for each of the activities so it ends up not being a super cheap activity. That said, we had a great time! They loved the little train, the cow train, the bounce house and the little tractors that they could drive. We enjoyed the animal show, sliding on the big tractor slide, climbing up the big haystack (a great photo op!), playing in the wooden train, seeing the animals and picking our own vegies! Definitely would recommend this!

My kids and I have always enjoyed our visits to this magical place. Year round they have animals to see and feed and fruit to pick. I especially enjoy the Halloween time fun. They have lots of pumpkins and Fall specific activities. Their customer service is amazing. Once when my so was small he had an accident and they gave me clothing off a scare crow - now that was service. Haha. You can pick fruit and ride ponies all year long. A must do thing for the kids.

Took the grandkids to Underwood Farms. They had an awesome time. They really enjoyed going into the fields and picking their own strawberries! They also enjoyed the variety of animals there. But by far, their best experience was picking the strawberries. They're still talking about it!

Not only can you pick and purchase fruits, buy lovely vegetables from the produce market, this farm is also a fun experience for children and adults of all ages. There are farm animals you can feed, tractor rides into the farm fields, and monthly events for the whole family. It is in a beautiful location. I love this place!

Found this place through a recommendation from a friend. Great place for kids to run around and have fun. Plenty of animals to see and touch. Small playground if the kids want to "relax" and just hang out! The DOWNSIDE to the farm is the lack of a decent place to eat. There is a truck on the premises which serves basic low quality drinks/sandwiches without much variety. The restrooms are also atrocious as they are basically outhouses. I can understand in keeping up with the theme, but these two issues need to be resolved. Otherwise, not too far from Los Angeles, thus making it an easy day trip.

Underwood Family Farms is a nice place to spend a day with the kids, or just walking around for some quiet time.

Go, go, go, to the farm. My 21 month old loved the animals, there are so many to see. There is a cute park, bails of hay to climb, and farm equipment to scale. Of course you can walk through the crops too. The entry fee is $3, which is very reasonable.If you want to spend more $ there are a variety of other activities, but my little one enjoys the free stuff, so it is a cheap, fun day.

One of the first things I noticed when I visited here is that everything is so well maintained. That makes it nice just to walk around. As others have mentioned, most of the things to do here cost extra, however the entrance price is very reasonable ($3 weekdays and $6 weekends) and includes a wagon ride, animal shows, and several play area. You can come and just hang out. However, because there are so many add-on attractions for kids (train ride, pony ride, etc.) it would be hard to come with kids and not spend a little extra. Still, if you add up all you spend, the price is really pretty good.The other fun thing about this farm is the U-Pic options (you pay extra for what you pick). Something that is different here is that you can pick things other than just fruit, like carrots, beans, cilantro - pretty much whatever is in season. A great way to show kids where their food comes from.
