Boy did we Luck out. Wanted a place close to our Airbnb that we could walk to. Found this on yelp and headed over. Initial ambiance at 7pm on a Sunday was a bit low. But we were early, the lights got dimmed and it was fine. Casual. Server was knowledgable. Owner came to explaining n and pour wine. Guy with thick accent who knows his stuff and has a passion for it. Lots of GF items. I had a fish dish which was so good I seriously thought of ordering another for lunch the next day. My wife had the seafood soup which was TDF. We each had 2 glasses of wine, split a d desert and I had a dessert wine. $110 total great great

I was not wowed by Venice Beach, though there were throngs of people who obviously craved its crowded quarters. I was totally wowed by Le Cellier. This small gastropub is easily accessible, right on W. Washington Blvd, yet far enough from the noise of the beach to give it an suburban village feel. Tables on the sidewalk, and quieter tables inside. The owners made us feel very welcome, as did the wait staff. We were treated to excellent food, from the appetizers through dessert. Everyone who worked there knew what they were doing, and we were the focus of their attention.I'll not soon forget the "Mekong Delta" fish (turmeric coated) I ordered...nor the easy and friendly ambience.
