I have visited many wine properties throughout Europe, Napa, Sonoma and the Central Coast. I have never seen something as beautiful as the Demetria property. Driving 2 1/2 miles up from Foxen Canyon Road we passed through a bank of wild flowers then we hit the winery. The wines were quite good, not great but the ambience and view from the Patio is unbelievable. I kept expecting God Himself to come around the corner and greet us. This was a visit that I will never forget for its beauty and serenity

I agree with other reviewers that Demetria is the most sublime winery to visit in the Santa Ynez region. A long road leads off Foxen Canyon leads here, and it feels "off the beaten path." A beautiful spot overlooking the hillside vineyards. Outdoor tables make for a good picnic spot. It's relaxed and welcoming. Unfortunately, I do not think that the wines match the location. I've been a bit disappointed in the wines on both visits. They aren't bad - they just don't seem to be of the same quality as some others we tried at Rusack and Foxen. Their featured wine was a Rhone varietal that was too harsh and peppery for the palates of most in our group. The Syrah was smoother but not great. We didn't buy any wine here. Visits are by reservation only. Just call ahead. Should not be a problem.

A beautiful stop on our winery tour that left most of us feeling as though we were welcomed guests at a good friend's home as opposed to an estate winery. Everyone was so delightful, welcoming, and gracious in ways you don't always see or find at places like these. Delicious wines, every single one, so it was difficult to choose a favorite between the Syrah, Halycon Pinot Noir, and Mouvedre - all really, really yummy. The outdoor seating feels intimate and there is an overall charm to the place that makes the experience so much more inviting and memorable. I would highly recommend a visit!

Well I would certainly sat that Demetria wins for most beautiful estate winery. Their wines are just as good as the scenery too.

Nice find and wonderful wines! Everything was good that we tasted. This winery I'd off the beaten path and membership only or by appointment. Of course we joined. If you like quality wines I highly recommend this winery. Grounds and scenery are beautiful.

Tough weather outside last week when we all stopped by, but the experience inside was still memorable. A group of 7 of us were well informed and attended to. We tried the wines on the list and some that weren't. Make sure to have a reservation. The view from this winery is gorgeous and worth going on a nice day. Even though I took some wine home, I look forward to going back.

You need to make a reservation to visit this winery. But do it well worth your time and money. I think the cost was $25 per person. Very nice pours and a couple extras that weren't on the wine list. The grounds are gorgeous. We sat outside and had our tasting. Mark was wonderful with his information and knowledge of the wines and winery.

Great wine, great views, great service. Can't say enough good things. I especially like that it is not pretentious.

We visited the vineyard on a trip to the Santa Ynez valley for wine tasting. What a beautiful spot, and the wines were outstanding. Appointment-only, I believe, but well worth it. Nothing better than sipping on a wine as you look out onto the vines it came from. We were just thrilled with this place. Hopefully our state of MA will change the rules soon so that we can have some of the wine shipped to us!

So I'm a member of this Winery so I'm able to drink for free, I believe it's $20 per person, having said that this is a VERY special place. The wine is very good but the tasting area is just beautiful. You go through a private gate and drive about 2 miles back through the vineyards. To say it's quite and beautiful back there is an understatement. You can go and sit a table in the yard looking over the vineyard and they will bring you your tastings to your table. My sister and I spent 2 hours there eating cheese and salami and just enjoying the wine and view. This winery is worth every penny of the fee because of the wonderful wine and most amazing tasting area.

You need to call ahead to let them know you are coming but this is a truly amazing location. Our limo driver showed us this winery on a previous tour and we joined their wine club. Perfect for picnicking. Wines are fabulous.

While hesitant at first to visit a winery that required us to call ahead and enter through a gate that needed a passcode, it was well worth the effort. Not only was the winery and tasting area a beautiful place to see, the wines were excellent as well. We were directed to a lovely garden setting where the fields could be seen in the distance and the trees around and above us created a cool haven for hummingbirds and shade loving plants. Our server made us feel relaxed. His knowledge and patience were evident as he guided us through the tasting. Every wine brought to us was superb. The visit to Demetria was the highlight of our trip to California. We can't wait to return.

Really relaxing, the wine was great and the staff were informative and friendly without over doing it when you are trying to enjoy the super views. The wine was amazing!

The setting for the vineyard and tasting was incredible. The languishing pace of the tasting let you enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You almost felt as if you were in the Tuscan countryside. This vineyard is closed to the public, but our guide was able to get us in for this special treat. The wines weren't to our tasting palette, but we give this 5 stars for the experience!
