All year around the park is exceptionally picturesque. However in Spring and Summer the leopard lilies near wedding rock are like something straight out of a fairy tale. Interspersed in the meadow they are like little flames in the grass. When the moon is full there is nothing quite as striking.

Most sites are too small for any motor home over 24 ft. Our site was #103, and it was so unlevel it took 18" of blocks to get the vehicle level. I will not stay here again. One saving grace was the lovely ocean view from our site.

Beautiful scenery, but the park can get really crowded when the weather is nice. Screaming kids always ruin the serenity of a place for me... ;) Also it's a surprise you have to pay to enter this park when Redwood National is 10min away and totally free.

This park is an amazing nature spot. The views are priceless, and there is wildlife all around. A few years ago when we came we saw whales, seals, and even a river otter! (My favorite animal, which I'd never seen in the wild before!)Wedding Rock and Lookout Point offer great views and sometimes even whale sightings. I always see seals and sometimes sea lions from these points. We saw a beautiful brown and yellow Meadowlark as well as a blue and grey crested Stellar's Jay while walking around the park.Agate Beach cannot be beat! It is my favorite nature spot in northern CA. It is somewhat of a steep climb down to the beach, but there are stairs and a trail, and a strange wooden ladder thing right where you go down onto the beach. Getting back up to the parking lot is good exercise! At Agate Beach there are beautiful waves and sea stacks to view as well as a stream and high sandstone and rocky cliffs. The sand on the beach is cool because it's not just sand-- it is made of the tiniest little rocks that are still at least five times larger than normal sand particles. I love gathering a handful and just looking at the colors of the rocks-- grey, black, green, clear, yellow, white, red. So neat!It seems like everyone here is looking down at the cool rocks and picking them up to examine them. Sometimes it's hard to stop looking for rocks, and realize that you need to look out to sea and look at the waves instead!Definitely give yourself some time to explore this wonderful gem of a park!Food tip: After you're done exploring, or if you need a lunch or dinner break, go 5.3 miles south to Trinidad, CA and eat at the Lighthouse Grill-- it's amazing.

My family used to vacation here when I was little and then I just recently went back with my boyfriend and his new tent. We explored most of the area, watched a sunset from the tide pools, and had a campsite right next to the ocean. It was amazing, and we can't wait to go back.

We had a great time hiking and learning about the area at the same time. Our son likes to earn is Junior Badge at every park we visit..and this was no different. All rangers on safe were very educated about the area and had no problem being patiant in helped my 10 year old.

Love going here when the tide is out to play in all the tide pools! The views are amazing! I pretty much visit this location every time I visit home.

We have camped here in the past - this time we rented a BnB down the road - but came into the Park daily to walk around and enjoy the serenity. (Timed it so kids were back in school)Hated leaving! ''

We enjoyed the trails walking to beautiful views of the ocean! They have many trails that offer a good workout. Bring a camera. Trinidad is a wonderful vacation destination.

We had bikes in our rental and took advantage of using them to ride to this park. What a beautiful place to ride to! The views are amazing! Just takes a few hours to bike and hike the area.

Great place to visit for low tide pools, be prepared for a long hike straight down the cliffs! Gorgeous, great view, awesome surf!

We visited as a couple in September. my wife had spent time researching a suitable walk that we could do whilst staying at eureka. This is the one she came up with. The drive was straightforward. We payed our entry fee and parked near the visitors centre. We struggled to find the start of the walk which was my fault I misunderstood the instructions turning left instead of right. The walk included both the Indian village and then along the coastal walk. Most of the walk was fine but a short bit had been damaged by falling cliff so it was a slight detour. But the views throughout are breathtaking. My wife favourite thing was the sealions we saw in there natural state frolicking in the sea.The only downside was that I didn't see any whales but it wasn't for looking. Go it so pretty and worth at least a dayEnough said

We were traveling and photographing our way up and down Highway 101 in Northern California and came across Patrick's Point State park and was so very pleasantly surprised with all the incredible views in and around the park. Lots of hiking trails and a person could easily spend days on all the side trips in the park. This park does have a day use fee ($8.00) if you don't already have a pass, so be ready for that. If your into camping there are hundreds of sites and most have great views and look very well kept.

Love the beach, love the hikes. State park fees are good in all state parks all day, good to know if you are planning on going to more than one.
