The volunteer staff were most helpful to my wife and me on our day-trip visit from Sacramento to advise us about cultural (art, drama, music events and jury-judged exhibitions. There is information about dining, walking tours, bed and breakfast venues, and special festivals during the year. This is a great place to stop when first arriving in Grass Valley for a visit.

Our visit to Grass Valley was enhanced by the information from the Grass Valley Chamber of Commerce. We met Julie, Brian and Glen at the office and they were were most gracious and friendly and provided us with all the information we needed for the enjoyment of our trip. I highly recommend contacting them prior to the visit for a more enjoyable holiday in the Grass Valley area. Their effort expended on our behalf is very much appreciated.

Good information at both locations. The Grass Valley Chamber is a little museum in itself with state of the art displays. Nevada City is a small room but of course, it is keeping with the historic look of the town.

Sat., July 5, 2014--drove to Grass Valley for the day.Visited some of the cute, unique shops.I can understand that businesses do not want the public to use their restrooms. The problem---no signage as to where the public restrooms are located. Asked at one ice cream shop (had a good ice cream treat there), and the employee told us by the Chamber building. Walked two blocks and it was closed.Got mad, got into the car, and left; drove around, and found no signage as to where the public restrooms were located. I suppose they were somewhere, but signage would be helpful for the tourists.

We just happened to park in front so went in to see what to do in Grass Valley. We received good and accurate information and suggestions. They suggested a restaurant just down the street for a special dinner (Kane's) and it was very good. I also asked about a place I last visited about 20 years ago, 'Happy Apple Kitchen' because they had terrific pie. Someone looked it up on the internet for me, wrote down the address, and gat instructions on how to get there. Just excellent service all around.

The center was very welcoming. Just a little difficult to find as their location had moved, but a great resource upon arrival.

We stopped in here to find restrooms. The woman working there was so helpful, she informed of us places to go, things to see, up coming events. We talked with her for about 45 minutes, it's nice to meet such friendly people.

The attendant was very helpful with walking tour info, historical data, etc. but wouldn't make any recommendations for lunch - she said to walk around and read menus.
