This is a small but very nice botanical gardens by the Sacramento River in the Dunsmuir area. I enjoyed seeing the various plants and taking a walk. There are picnic tables by the river. There are informational boards about the park and birds, animals in the area.

This park provides easy access to the Upper Sacramento River and is a favorite for fishermen. A nice river trail allows access both upstream and downstream, while the park has grassy areas for picnics, tables overlooking the river, and barbecue grills. It is always enjoyable to stop here for a few hours and try your luck fishing. Easy to find off Dunsmuir Avenue.

Nice small botanical garden in a well thought out city park, right next to a river. Little trails through the garden. especially appreciated the rick garden using native plants.

The gardens are well worth looking at, and the river is right there also. It was a pretty spot and peaceful.

If you love nature and beautiful flora, the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens are something you must see. They are in the Dunsmuir City Park, just off Interstate 5 (exit 270), near Mt. Shasta California. Dunsmuir is a small historic railroad town, located in a canyon near the crystal clear headwaters of the Sacramento River. The city park is gorgeous, with picnic tables, gentle walking trails near the river, and a playground for young children. Admission is free, so if you are in area, the Dunsmuir Botanical Gardens are a "must see" attraction. David and Carol Abelson, Sacramento, California.
