We recently moved to the area and have been enjoying everything the area has to offer including the many Farmer's Markets all over the city. We live just a few minutes from this Farmer's Market in Del Mar so we come here almost every Saturday. This one is open from 1 PM to 4 PM every Saturday. This one in Del Mar is not particularly big compared to other markets in the area but the things that are there are fresh and tasty. The variety isn't as big as some of the other bigger markets but we've still left with plenty of items each time. There are fruits and vegetables, flowers, cakes and pastries and also there are a few booths with ethnic foods like Japanese, Greek, Indian and other types. The negatives would be the limited amount of parking in the area. You have to drive around and park in front of people's houses as there isn't much parking in that area. The other thing is the price. The prices are definitely higher than all the other farmer's markets that we've been to. Definitely go around and ask on prices. You can have 2 booths with essentially the same strawberries and one might be selling them for $8 and another $4 which seemed strange. The good thing is that like other markets, most of the booths will let you try any of the fruits. And most have samples out in front so you know what you are getting. It's still worth going to if you're in the area. Some of the fruits are super delicious.
