This is a fun little museum! Your child will like the low-key atmosphere and the chance to try some experiments and learn a bit about science.

Explorit has a variety of hands-on indoor and outdoor science activities that children can explore and learn new things about the world around them. Exhibits are rotated periodically and include a rock/mineral collection, live animals with which children can interact, and physical science experiments. Explorit hosts traveling programs and intramural camps for children.

This was a fun spot to visit but very much for young families. The title of the exhibit online was about Art and Science so I thought I'd give it a try. Went there with my 19 yr. old daughter. A little on the young side for us, but it was still fun. Loved the different cockroaches and lizards. Some of the hands on stuff was fun. The grounds were nice. Would highly recommend this as a stop for families with kids up to 10 yrs. old.

I'm a native Davisite and I grew up visiting the Explorit Science Center. This is a great place to learn and experience science hands-on. The exhibits rotate and they oftentimes have live animals that kids can handle. All around, this is a worthwhile afternoon outing.

This place is really hands-on because they use familiar stuff for investigations or experiments. It's the sort of place where you and your kids will pick up ideas for things you can start - or continue - at home. It's small but there's lots to do if you are into getting engaged with sciencey stuff. It's in a park setting which is really nice and there is lots of parking. Check out the public hours on the website www.explorit.org. They do classroom visits too.

A few other moms and I took our Kindergarteners there. They had fun but the place is smaller than expected and we didn't stay very long. Definitely educational and it won't take up your whole day.
